I was down town last weekend & decided with a friend to try out LG Carlow, it is about 5 years since I was there last, the food we got was good but it just didn't seem like it was a few years ago in there, not restaurant quality. The main point I am making to management is the cleanliness & the worn/torn look of certain parts of the restaurant, the seat we sat in has a 12 inch tear in two places & food bits in it, the inner window ledge needs to be stripped back and revarnished, the outer windows need to be done about once a month( river side), the mens toilets - all over the wooden panels needs to be taken down and varnished and replaced to a good standard, certain parts of the tiles on restaurant need to be scrubbed to bring them back, also blinds need to be taken down looking onto river and polished, and as the previous reviews, the staff were excellent. I hope senior management over the group will get to view this & get in with a bit of elbow grease, thats all it needs . . . I will be back to enjoy this restaurant over...
Read moreAfter hearing great things about the Lemongrass I couldn't wait to try it. It was lovely and warm and inviting inside. It wasn't busy as it was an early dinner we went for. The service was so so poor. After we received our menus we waited over 20 minutes for someone to take our order, at that we had call a waiter over. No water was offered for the table and we waited another 20 mins for our wine to arrive. The food was mediocre at best with not much flavour, the main course was actually very bland. I ordered crispy beef salad for starters and it was more burnt than crispy, main course was jasmine rice chicken stir fry, the rice was way over cooked and just some soy sauce tossed into it with 2 raw pieces of broccoli. In between courses our dirty plates were left on out table for over 15 minutes. It wasn't busy at all so there was no need for this low level of service. We didn't stay for dessert as at that stage we were there over 1.5hrs. A very disappointing place that I had heard good...
Read more11 of us had dinner in lemongrass last Sunday "mothers day" the food was beautiful.. however there was an add on charge of 30 euro for booking a table for 6 or more people.. we weren't informed of this when making the booking , it was pointed out on the front cover of the menu when I questioned it.. it is not visible when viewing the menu online.. I thought it was a very sneaky add on. It would have been 3 separate tables when booking had this been pointed out... I don't see how this applies when the same amount of people are being served whether it be 1 or 3 tables.. we would have been leaving the same amount in a tip but not any more when dining there.. it nice to leave it of your own free will rather than being compelled to do so.. Just to be aware of this for a large family when booking...
