Lovely terraced gardens on a steep hillside with plants from around the world including a wollemi pine from my own country (a species from the dinosaur era long thought to be extinct but found in one tiny corner of a mountain by hikers in 1997) In other highlights there is a greenhouse with some interesting tropical species, orchids, epiphytes, and a selection of insect eating plants to excite the kiddies. Lots of shady groves, waterfalls and pools as well. At one end of the gardens there is a viewing platform which is suspended by cables out over the cliff. Very exciting this one. The museum in the schloss was very interesting being about the development of tourism in the south tyrol region over the last three hundred years. Upstairs are rooms used by the troubled empress Elizabeth better known as Sissi, including, of all things, a chocolate cake baked for her by a local innkeeper, of which she had but one small slice. The innkeeper kept the cake as a souvenir and it is now hard as a rock. In her bedroom you can try on typical clothes from that era. So.. plenty to see here. Parking is available at a flat rate per day. There is a restaurant or you can take your own...

Surprisingly big and definitly worth a visit. The park itself recommends you stay about 3-4 hours, but perhaps staying a tad shorter is also good enough. You'll get to see some birds and a few animals as well. But the main attraction is the big garden with many different plants and a wide network of charming little corridors through the greens. Park attendant at the entrance spoke good english. Next to the more common italian/german people tend to speak in this region.

Covid+bus related info: If you want to go by bus you'd best get a busticket in advance in the city itself. You're not allowed to interact with the busdriver & they don't sell tickets at the park.

There's also a car parking but I don't date estimate its capacity. It looked pretty...

It's a really beautiful place! It's an enormous botanical garden and it has something for everyone. It has a bamboo park for tree lovers, a picnic area for people who like to relax, it has a fish pond for fish lover, some cool looking budgies for bird lovers and even a beach for those who like to take a sunbath. It takes you about three to four hours to visit the whole garden, including the museum. There is also a restaurant and a bar for a good meal or a quick snack. There are also a lot of waterfalls with a water playground which is perfect for kids or those who don't want to walk a lot around the gardens. And for the lovers there is a special garden at the top just for you, make sure to...

Exceptionally beautiful botanic garden with a huge variety of plants and stunning views off the viewing platforms higher up on the hill. The different routes through the park are thematically arranged and guide you through the entire park. If you want to see everything, 3-3,5 hours should be sufficient if you walk at an average speed. There's multiple play areas and opportunities for interaction for children to make it more interesting for them. The restaurant is at an average price, the quality of the food we got there was however very good, and it was deliverd to the table rather quickly. Would definitely recommend this to everyone good by foot!

This place is so awesome I don't even want to write a review about it, it might make it busier in this era of overtourism. But anyway: this garden is too beautiful to be true: the location in the Alps, the hilly terrain of the park, and the variety of plants and flowers and artwork. Usually it's sunny here which really helps. We were here in late October which was perfect. Walking around is not really doable for people who don't walk well. Parking is easy, there's also a bus to the station and it's an easy detour from the Brenner tollway.
