I was thrilled to find out I could give a 30-minute flight over Lake Como to my husband as a 60th birthday gift. I emailed Aero Club Como and told them our schedule was fairly open as we are on vacation, and they told me they had a 10am opening the following day. They asked us to arrive 10 minutes early. We drove almost 45 minutes to get there by 9:45am. We completed paper work in a couple of minutes and waited for a 10am flight. At 10am there was no pilot... at 10:10am we inquired where the pilot was and we were told he was running late. By 10:20am, we watched a plane land, a couple disembark and then the plane take off with a different couple. We inquired again about the pilot. We were told he was stuck in traffic and he would arrive at 10:30am. Seriously??! We left early enough to ensure we were on time. They are running a business for a half hour flight that costs 190 Euros and they are telling us the pilot is going to be a half hour late? We had already waited a half hour and decided we couldn't believe a word the man behind the desk was telling us because throughout this ordeal he offered nothing unless we asked nor did he seem concerned. It appeared they had overbooked and found it easier to not honor our time in an attempt to make us wait and maximize their revenue. So we wasted one complete morning of our vacation as well as leaving me heartbroken over the gift I couldn't give my husband for his 60th birthday. They offered no apologies nor any attempt to assuage the situation. I would not recommend...
Read moreTerrible experience. I had booked weeks in advance to fly for my birthday and honeymoon, so it was a very special occasion. I got moved 5 times and eventually it was cancelled at last minute ' due to some inconveniences with our airplanes due to lake conditions'. But on the phone i was told other training pilots had priority, so i know i was being fobbed off. I'm sorry but this isnt good enough. Not after 6 months planning, and 2 significant events to celebrate . I had flown with Club Como 10 years ago, and it was fine, but not now. Very much 'computer says no'!...
