Great stop off or day trip to Matera. We drove from the Amalfi coast to Lecce. Decided to make this part of the route. It's stunning approach, but the new town does look a little tacky as you get into the centre. That said, it was easy parking and a stroll into the old town itself and it was beautiful. Lots of little eateries and cafe's that are in keeping with the surroundings. Worth a visit, and...

Warto przyjechać na 1 pełny dzień i na spokojnie pospacerować, zjeść w przerwie. Polecam spacer z przewodnikiem za 25 euro. Można wejść do jednego z 3poziomowych domów ale i usłyszeć historie tego miejsca. Warto zejść do cysterny na wodę, ponoć 2giej największej na świecie. Mistyczne miejsce, zapierający dech w piersiach widok na stara Matere.
