Our family with 9 y.o. son really liked the experience. There's a section devoted to Leonardo da Vinci's technical works, diaries, projects and personal life. You can see his blueprints with his inscriptions and then there are recreation models nearby - fascinating. Then, there are lots of exhibitions devoted to technological achievements in other fields - space, electricity, radio transmission, agriculture, food producing, fabric making and some others. And finally you can visit adjacent buildings, where you'll see a couple of magnificent giant steam locomotives (you can enter some), some trams (those too), boats, a huge chunk of a sea liner superstructure, and a 1:1 model of a european space rocket sitting outside. Other than that, there's also a submarine, but the tickets are purchased separately. I'd recommend buying tickets in advance on their website to skip possible lines at the ticket booth. Overall I'd definitely recommend visiting this museum. A fun, entertaining and enlightening experience for the whole family.

The content is great and you can easily spend 4 hours here. I have to however take away a star for few things that are glaringly missing - its a lot of distance waking and standing and I could see children getting cranky towards the middle of the tour. This could have been easy to solve for by providing more resting spots and water stations along the way. The second blindspot was not having a restaurant. Given that this museum takes about 4 hours to visit, most visitors specially kids will need food and cookies and chips don't cut it when you need lunch. While you have the option of stepping out for food and coming back in ( which we did ) depending what month and day you go most restaurants might be closed ( we found only ONE open ). Otherwise the visit was very enriching. There were some interaction games that kids were enjoying ( wish there were more :) ) overall recommended for sure but we recommended you plan your trip and carry wholesome snacks and water that you can eat in the picnic area.

The museum is housed in a stunning historic cloister. What I really appreciated was the diversity of the spaces and exhibitions — each with its own character and focus, so there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.

I spent the entire afternoon there — from just after lunch until closing time — and still didn’t manage to read and see everything properly. The museum is incredibly diverse and packed with content.

I had actually already visited a Da Vinci museum in Rome, so I wasn’t expecting to see anything particularly new — but I was pleasantly surprised. This museum was curated very differently and offered a fresh perspective. I especially liked how the exhibitions were divided into clear themes, and I found the explanations of Da Vinci’s concepts both engaging and accessible. The animations and videos based on his drawings were particularly impressive — they brought his inventions to life and helped me understand how they worked on a much deeper level.

One thing to be aware of: the museum offers two suggested routes — a “fast” and a “slow” one — marked by arrows throughout the space. While this system is helpful in theory, I found it a bit confusing and, honestly, exhausting. I followed the suggested path without realizing what lay ahead, and ended up using most of my energy on the first part — which, unfortunately, wasn’t what I was most interested in. So here’s my recommendation: take a moment at the beginning to look at the map or guide, and prioritize the sections that interest you most. You can always go back to the others if you still have time or energy.

One of the highlights for me was how well air-conditioned the entire museum was — it made for a perfect escape from the summer heat and the flock of tourists. I also really appreciated the thoughtful details, like a comfy sofa and a charging station, where I could take a proper break between exhibitions. These small touches made the whole visit feel more relaxed and...

The Leonardo Da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology in Milan is an utterly amazing destination that offers an exceptional experience for visitors of all ages. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the interactive exhibits and the wealth of knowledge they presented.

One of the standout features of this museum is its interactive nature. It allows visitors to engage with the displays, providing a hands-on experience that truly brings the wonders of science and technology to life. Whether you're a curious child or a lifelong learner, there is something for everyone to enjoy and explore.

During my visit, I couldn't help but notice that a few of the English explanations had been scratched off or were in need of maintenance. However, this minor issue did not detract from the overall experience. The museum's staff was helpful and informative, readily answering any questions I had and providing additional insights into the exhibits.

I spent a good two hours meticulously going through the museum, taking my time to delve into the details of the exhibits that fascinated me the most. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Da Vinci exposition. The collection dedicated to this genius inventor and artist was mesmerizing, offering a profound glimpse into his brilliance and innovation. I walked away with a newfound appreciation for Da Vinci's contributions to various fields, from art to engineering and everything in between.

If you find yourself in Milan, a visit to the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology is an absolute must. It is a place where the past meets the future, where inspiration flourishes, and where knowledge is shared in the most captivating way possible. Prepare to be enthralled by the wonders of science and technology, and to leave with a sense of awe...
