Gelato was delicious! Texture was amazing and seemed authentic to me (unlike what I’ve experienced in other countries). Definitely like how all their ingredients are natural. We got the medium cones and portions were very good. (2 scoops) We went for the dark chocolate. Raspberry cheesecake & vanilla. The cheesecake one truly tasted like cheesecake and not overly sweet! However the shop interior and ordering experience felt like ordering at McDonalds. The employees are working very hard and were professional but the system of purchasing the cone size very quickly and then bringing the ticket in another queue to choose the flavour, although efficient felt impersonal. I do prefer the simple interior look to other places that seem to over compensate with a blingy modern decor but still felt too clinical. Not many great places to sit nearby as is a busy shopping street (before the icecream melts) we had to sit on a dirty bench on a side street opposite someone smoking crack (who then harassed us) but I guess that’s the Naples charm 🤷‍♀️ maybe try their other locations for more peaceful spots to sit.

Everyone hyped up Mennella like it was the gelato holy land, so naturally, I strutted in ready to have a life-changing moment. And while the gelato was decent, let’s just say… I didn’t ascend to dairy heaven. The peanut flavor? Surprisingly good. Nutty, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. It gave strong “childhood peanut butter sandwich but fancy” energy, and I respect that. But the pistachio? Oh no, sweet summer child. It came out swinging with a weirdly muted flavor and none of that rich, toasty pistachio magic I was dreaming of. In Naples, where pistachio gelato is basically a competitive sport, this one barely made it off the bench. The vibe? Cute. The staff? Nice. But the gelato? Honestly, I’ve had better existential moments from a cone at the gas station in Sicily. Final verdict: Nice for a casual scoop, great if you’re into peanut gelato—but if you’re chasing that pistachio high, keep walking.

Without a doubt, Mannella il Gelato in Naples serves the best gelato we’ve ever had! Every flavor we tried was incredibly rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, with a real depth of flavor that sets it apart from any other gelato shop. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The staff were friendly and passionate about their gelato, offering helpful recommendations and generous samples so we could choose our favorites. The variety was impressive, with both classic and creative flavors. The texture was silky and creamy, exactly how authentic gelato should be. The shop itself was clean and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a treat. We ended up returning multiple times during our stay in Naples because nothing else compared. If you are in Naples and love gelato, Mannella il Gelato is an absolute must-visit. You won’t be disappointed!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Except if you'd like to face a rude old lady who serves you half of the ice creams you paid for. We've paid for 6 ice creams, she gave us 2 instead. 4 of us were standing there telling her we paid for 6. The cashier girl was nice and helped us out, told her she's wrong. Then the old woman got angry and served us half the amounts she gave before and she was throwing the lids of ice creams, flailing. She gave us medium instead of small by mistake, with the wrong flavours and she was not willing to change it to the correct portion and flavours. Then we had to call her colleagues again and told them we are not going to take this as this is not that we asked for. Eventhough her colleagues told her to change, she was just getting angry and did not want to serve us. Then when she did finally, she gave much smaller amounts then for the small one before and made weird faces... plus as an extra, she put the scones in a way ON PURPOSE that they fell off each other in 2 minutes... Ice creams were already melted by the way. If you want good ice cream, walk a bit farther towards the Funicolare, Casa Infante offers a much more delicious ice cream that is not melted. I honestly don't understand how you can behave like this if you are supposed to sell your stuff. At the end of the day, you live out of customers. Customer experience improvement is highly...

If you're looking for the most authentic gelato, you must try this place! This place serves some of the smoothest, most flavorful gelato we have ever tasted. It truly tastes like it’s been made fresh, from scratch. I know this is a chain, but the gelato tastes homemade. The texture is incredibly creamy, without being overly sweet, and you can tell they use only the best ingredients. The hazelnut flavor and the hazelnut chocolate were the best, in my opinion. Each scoop feels like a velvety indulgence, and the flavors are rich and perfectly balanced. I’ve had gelato in many places, but this easily ranks in my top 3.

The only downside…They limit you to just one sample, which feels a bit stingy, especially when you want to try multiple flavors before deciding. But honestly, the gelato is so good that it’s worth the restriction. If you find yourself nearby, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won’t regret it! We had it every night during our 4-night...
