Osteria Gentile Napoli — Restaurant in Naples

A small, intimate restaurant. The food is lovely and I've finally found an Italian wine that floats my boat! Mario served us, and his passion showed through, even speaking in his second language. The Chefs platter is wonderful, what a broad selection of dishes, some that we wouldn't have chosen but so pleased we tried. Our child preferred to know what he was going to eat, so stuck to favourites of cured meat and tempora prawns - wow!! I felt at home there and we can not wait to go back! This restaurant is going places, the chefs really know their stuff and yet are true to local dishes. The desserts change by the day but the rustic version of Tiramisu was anything but basic. The flavours combined beautifully and the mixed of textures and temperature with the sweet crunchy bread......

We came across the Osteria Gentile by chance and were absolutely bowled over by the quality of the food and the service. We had a mixed starter which encompassed a wide variety of local dishes and is definitely something I would recommend. It introduced us to local specialities which we would otherwise not have tried and which were all delicious. Mario, our waiter, was attentive but discrete, knowledgeable and helpful and he helped create the perfect ambience for our dinner. This was definitely the best food we have eaten in Naples. The restaurant has only recently opened and we hope that it gets the custom it deserves. A truly memorable evening - thank you to the two brothers who are such wonderful chefs. Ordered the seared octopus and swordfish pasta. I was trying something new and it was cooked to absolute perfection I really enjoyed every bite, I was almost sad to see the meal end. We came here for our first day in Naples and it’s been the highlight of our day. You can really tell the two brother chefs put a lot of love and effort into their cooking.
