It borders in the middle of Piazza Matteotti with the Porta San Pietro district, at the beginning of Via Bartolo and in the middle of Via del Melo with Porta Sant'Angelo. It was closely connected with this, as in the "Sassajola" competition they constituted the "upper part" and fought against Porta Santa Susanna, Porta Eburnea and Porta San Pietro, the "lower part". The district boasts, within its walls, a large number of noble palaces, one of which houses the Augusta Municipal Library, the church of San Severo with Raphael's fresco, the Etruscan gate of Giglio, the Borgo Sant'Antonio, the and the Convent of Monteluce, the Pozzo Sorbello or Etruscan Well. From the highest point of Porta Sole and of all of Perugia, the viewpoint that connects with the staircase of Via delle Prome, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful and evocative views.
