I think there was more information to be found online than there was on the tablet that they provided for English and French speakers. The tablet was incomplete, and referred to images that were not there eg. A timeline (see image). If you were hoping to catch anything by following along with the Italian guide, forget it. She obviously does the tour every hour, every day, and does not pause for breath. I have never heard anyone speak so fast and with less passion! I don't believe she even asked a single question of the group. It was a completely canned experience and one for which I could have done without paying 10 euro!

Update: Given the response: It is a pity that they cannot improve the experience for foreign language speakers, and accept the feedback that the guide who took us through spoke very fast, and did not ask a single question to see if people had questions. Let alone see if any of the foreign visitors had questions - after all we paid the same price. The guide spoke and moved so quickly from one place to the other she gave no time for anyone in the group to ask questions. I attended with an Italian speaking friend who confirmed my impression that she did not ask a single question, and that she spoke exceptionally quickly. I did not say she did not know anything, just that she should adjust her pace and check with...

Bought this as a trio of tickets to Cathedral & sacristy (very good audio tour), Museo Capitole and Sotterranea. Full price for all 3 €21. If you have limited time and have to choose, buy the ticket to Sotterranea only. I did the tour (in Italian, check re English) with wonderful, warm, and knowledgeable Beatrice. Out of all the staff on reception at Isola San Lorenzo, she is the nicest and the friendliest one. Her other colleague could take lessons, they really didn't look delighted to be there, and i saw and heard in the courtyard the next group, let's just say I was glad Beatrice was our guide. If you are doing a tour, do ask when Beatrice is leading. The subterranean complex is really quite amazing, Roman road, remnants of Domus, Etruscan walls and temple foundations, layers after layer of Augusta Perusia later Perugia, on display, beautifully lit up. Even the VR experience was excellent. I just wish we had an extra 10min to look at some of the finds displayed in there. To me that part (post VR) felt a little rushed....

This is truly an amazing place with fascinating history. Keep in mind that the English tour is only once per day, which is a shame. For Italian tour they give you tablet with information, but I could hear that the guide was telling some extra information that were not in the tablet guide. Also some of the places were described in the tablet guide but we did not stop to see them at the tour so there was no time to read about them.

Ať the end of the visit there is a virtual reality experience which is wonderful but could be easily enhanced to be fantastic. I absolutely loved that we could see the actual interior of the Etruscan house at its best. But it was too short, and it didn't show how the city was buried by the pope in XV the century which I was really hoping to see. Also the graphics could be much better, at least the assassin's Creed level.

But overall it's definitely worth the visit. It's a...
