We wanted to take a private boat tour from Positano, expecting to see the coast. We were very lucky to find Daniele, who was an excellent guide and operates a classic wooden boat for an intimate day discovering places like Praiano, Nerano, Conca dei Marini and Capri.
There is nothing better than spending a day with Daniele drinking prosecco, relaxing in and out of the boat, and admiring the spectacle of this incomparable beauty.
Daniele is part of one of the area’s best known families. Daniele was born in Positano and has been boating guests around the area since he was 9 years old—driving the most famous boat in the area—the Red Fish—to his family’s restaurant.
Daniele took us on a private sunset tour departing from Positano with an on-board toast and views of the Li Galli Islets, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri. He took us to the unique places along Europe's most alluring stretch of shoreline that the bigger tourist boats miss.
Daniele knows stories of all the places and patiently stopped for us to swim or snorkel right off the boat. Daniele speaks perfect English and knows all the stories of the area.
He even let our kids drive the boat!
We have recommended friends to Daniele as well, and many have used his services for a full-day boat tour departing from Positano, for places like Sorrento and the Blue and Green Grottoes of Capri.
A day with Daniele is a can’t-miss if you visit the Amalfi Coast. If you’re lucky he will bring his beautiful...
Read moreWe were fortunate enough to have Daniele take us on a few wonderful boat rides last summer and they were the highlight of our time in Italy.
His boat is beautiful, and was able to accommodate our family, including small children, comfortably. Daniele was so kind to our kids and let them steer the boat, stopped off at special little unknown beaches and islands where they jumped freely into the Mediterranean sea. We all felt so lucky to be able to experience the magic of this spectacular part of the world through the eyes of someone who has spent his life there, and it also doesn't hurt that he is such a kind person .
We had options to do a half day and leave in the morning, taking in the breathtaking landscape of Amalfi, and returning in time for lunch at Daniele's family's exquisite restaurant. Another day we did a full day on the boat heading north towards Nerano for lunch, stopping at Li Galli to take a dip in the sea and to take in the views of Capri. He also took us to a few places we couldn't even locate on a map. This was really something only a true local could show us. When we arrived back into Positano, the sun was about to set and we went to sleep dreaming of the truly magical day we had.
When we returned home to Los Angeles we reminisced for some time about how special those boat rides were and we decided we don't want to spend a summer away from Positano, so we will be back again soon, and are looking forward to trying out an...
Read moreWe were scheduled to go on our boat tour but the weather was going to produce rough seas. Daniele contacted us and provided an option for another day and accommodated a different time to meet. We greatly appreciated it as the resulting boat tour was the highlight of our time in Positano. There are stunning views walking around and between each of the towns on the Amalfi Coast. The sea from on high with the coastline is hypnotizing. That said, if you do not see the Amalfi Coast from a boat with someone that has passion for the area you have missed an enchanting perspective. Daniele took us out for a full day tour of the Amalfi Coast pointing out history of the area as well as some of the more notable villas, physical attributes, geography, agriculture, all in a very easy, flowing conversation. The knowledge and passion for the area was a fantastic backdrop to a constant flow of picturesque coastline shrouded in sapphire blue. Our swimming stops were stunning. Daniele also organized a stop for lunch at a great beach front restaurant. It was another great experience in a day of great...
