We had a misunderstanding regarding our lunch reservation (we were told “lunch starts at 1pm” but apparently we HAD to come to our table at 1pm). It quickly escalated to the owner (or so she presented herself) screaming at us on top of her lungs: “you are not welcome here”, “I’ll call the police” and “other people who are on time are smarter than you”. We were shocked to say the least. Even after asking her to calm down and talk to clients in a more acceptable manner, she went on shouting abuses - and for what, because we were late without even being aware of it?? I do appreciate it’s top season in August and people are stressed but this level of disrespect is not adequate to the situation by any measure. It escapes me how a person so rude can work...
Read moreI enjoyed the beach, I went around 4 pm to the free section of the beach and it was fairly quiet and plenty of space. I wanted somewhere more calm than the marina grande. Worth the extra walk and even the stairs for me. The main reason I want to leave a review is because the location on the map it takes you by walking is incorrect! I spent so much time looking for it thinking I missed the stairs but in reality google maps simply isn’t taking you to the right position. If you are coming from Positano heading towards Amalfi keep going, it is further ahead than the map says. Search Villa Maura for the correct position of the stairs. The cliffs are better there plenty place for the free beach in the off season and also plenty shades place to take shelter from the sun in case you have enough sunbathe.
