Even though tours are organized every last Friday of the month only, after writing an email to Lucio, he made sure I could join a tour during my stay in Trieste (which included the second Friday of the month). A 2-hour tour was 5 EUR only. Lucio and Maurizio are clearly passionate about what they do (it's exclusively volunteer work, not even funded by the city of Trieste!) and have a plethora of interesting information to share with guests - about Trieste and the German occupation, WWII, speleology, etc. This was one of the most interesting things I did in Trieste during my stay and I couldn't recommend Lucio and Maurizio more.

Son rimasta particolarmente colpita della forte passione dei lavoratori che pur non essendo professionisti sono molto competenti sia nel raccontare la storia e la scienza del luogo che a intrattenere al pubblico spesso con qualche aneddoto scherzoso in triestino. Questa attività senza scopo di lucro è gestita da un'associazione che ci tiene molto a condividere le proprie conoscenze sulla città, i dintorni e la storia della nostra regione. Un prezzo irisorolio per un'esperienza originale e istruttiva. Abbiamo contribuito con l'acquisto di un libro scritto da uno di loro, era il minimo che potevamo dopo essere stati trattati così cordialmente.

The non-profit Museum is run by a small group of VOLUNTEERS (some are retired and some are still working) so IT IS NOT OPEN DAILY. The Museum is open only by appointment for large groups Mon-Fri writing an email some months/weeks before the required date to kleineberlin@cat.ts.it containing name, last name and number of visitors and waiting for a positive replay. The Museum is open to public each LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH: 17.30-19.30 and 20.00-22.00. . This is ALWAYS WRITTEN ON THE DOOR, on FACEBOOK or reported in previous comments here or on Tripadvisor. There is a maximum number of visitors for each tour due to the echo and spaces. The tour in English is available ONLY during the last Friday of the month, both...

We visited the museum and tunnels with a very large group of history students as part of our trip to Trieste. The tour guide, Maurizio, was able to keep the attention of all the students with his amazing stories (in English!) and answered everybody's questions. All the students enjoyed this tour immensely! I would recommend to visit...
