Gran Paradiso — Attraction in Valsavarenche

Absolutely fantastic, for many reasons.

This is the second time we have had a sizable party at this restaurant, the first one was maybe fifteen people? This most recent was 35.

The staff from start to finish conducted themselves in an exemplary manner, e.g., from treating the cake we brought as though it was for their own party to graciously putting up with several young and extraordinarily active children, never once losing patience or speaking sternly even when these children were getting in the way when they had hot plates of food, the staff members were all unwaveringly professional.

They worked diligently to ensure our party guests always had drinks, that the food was correct, and that everything was delivered in a timely fashion.

Speaking of the food- it is no easy feat to serve 35 people at exactly the same time, all while managing normal restaurant patrons, and yet the staff pulled it off impeccably. One in our group seemed to find something about their dish disagreeable, but knowing this particular individual, I am confident it was more of a personal issue and not one the staff created, if you know what I mean. Everyone else stated their food was perfect, and we had some rather discerning people in attendance.

This was an important and special event planned to celebrate a milestone for the patriarch of our family, and it mattered to all of us that it be executed well; I am so glad Gran Paradiso was the venue of choice because the party was a great success.

All of the positive reviews are accurate. Our waiter was extremely friendly (had a great personality) and the manager, who wore a nice suit, made sure to make myself, my date, and the other guests feel very much at home.

This was my first time going there and I was so incredibly impressed that I immediately decided, before even getting my food, that I would be back. Even as early as when I called to make a reservation for the same day, the manager was so respectful that you feel compelled to go.

The food (I had chicken parmesan w/spaghetti) was very good. Spaghetti was Al dente. The place was full, everything was excellent.

The only slight issue was that the speed of service was decent, at best. We were there for about 2 hours. As a young couple, this far exceeded how long we wanted to wait, and found ourselves mentally exhausted to the point where we felt we needed to get up and stretch.

Had a very good experience here after hearing all the rave! You walk into a beautiful fully stocked bar and beautiful dim lit ambience with Italian music and beautiful pictures hanging throughout , after we were seated by the gracious host we ordered our drinks and appetizers ,a couple glasses of house white wine and the much talked about fried calamari and hot anti-Posto, both were absolutely delicious and very good portions as well! For dinner my wife and I both had the steak ribeye which was a special for the evening , our waiter recommended it and told us it's cut with a butter knife and he was spot on! It was so succulent, better than most steakhouses I have frequented !
