Banna-ji Temple — Attraction in Ashikaga

JR 足利駅、あるいは足利市駅( 東武伊勢崎線)から近いです。

追記:　昨年の九月初め頃に訪れ、５ヵ月程前に投稿しましたが、鑁阿寺(ばんなじ。本堂は国宝)について改めて、今回もう少し書いてみようと思います。

1196年に足利義兼が開基した、大日如来を本尊とする寺院。鎌倉時代に建てられた国宝の本尊、重要文化財の鐘楼や経堂がある。

元は足利氏本家邸宅でしたが、後に真言宗大日派の寺院となる。

足利氏は、源氏の流れを汲む武家の名門一族で、後醍醐天皇の治世に足利高氏(後の尊氏)が征夷大将軍と成ったことで、一躍全国に名を馳せました。

尊氏は、京都の一条通りと二条通りの間辺りの、室町に幕府を開き(室町幕府)全国の武家を纏め、政治を行いました。

しかし、後に後醍醐天皇と反目し、北朝の天皇を擁立した為(南北朝時代)、逆臣とされた偉人です。

小生(私)は、足利尊氏ほど好きな武将も少なく、逆臣とは言え、知性と武勇を兼ね備えた、織田信長にも劣らない英雄だったと思います。

その上に、慈悲や人望も持ち合わせていた、歴史上稀にみる人物だったとも思っています。

尊氏の『尊』の字は、後醍醐天皇の『尊治』から一字貰った為、高氏から尊氏と成りました。

それほど、初めは後醍醐天皇の信頼が厚い武将でした。

天皇が親政の世に戻そうとした為(建武新政)、武家の反感が高まり、武家の棟梁だった尊氏に人望が集まって、後醍醐天皇と敵対したと…まぁ簡潔に言えば、そいうことらしい。

どこか織田信長と西郷隆盛を足した様な感じの、とても魅力的な人物だったのではと思います。

尊氏自身は朝廷側と武家側のアンコとなり(板挟み)、相当悩んで苦労したことと思います。(多分…)

とにかく戦(いくさ)に強く、人望厚い武将でしたが、朝廷を分裂させた罪は遺憾とも重く、近代まで逆臣として不名誉なレッテルを貼られてきました。(孫の義満が、南北朝統一を実現させる)

足利尊氏という武将を再評価し、英雄として描いた大河ドラマ等、今後メディアに多く取り上げて欲しいと思っています。

しかし、そうなると新田義貞や楠木正成(くすのき-まさしげ)などの人気武将や、更には後醍醐天皇までがヒール役と成ってしまう為に、脚本構成がかなり難しく成りそうです。

足利尊氏は南北朝分裂後に、弟側勢力と敵対し、南朝吉野の後醍醐天皇に謁見し謝罪して、和睦仲介をお願いしていますので(尊氏は後醍醐天皇を尊敬していた)、そのエピソードから後醍醐天皇だけは、あくまでも特別な(雲の上の)存在として表現できないものかとも思います。

それはさて置き、鑁阿寺の正式名は『金剛山 仁王院 法華坊 鑁阿寺』というらしいです。

鑁阿寺(ばんなじ)の素晴らしさは、沢山のGooglemapユーザーの皆さんが詳しく教えてくれています。

昨年の９月初め頃、まだ残暑の残る正午頃に訪れ、鑁阿寺(ばんなじ)の女性の解説を聞いたり、可愛い三毛猫と戯れたり、国指定文化財の大銀杏を見たり、寺門入った左側の公園ステージまでの途中にあった売店で、足利シューマイに舌鼓したりした思い出があります。

この時は、寺院の奥の方に特殊な簡易ステージ会場を組み立てていて、夜にお芝居が催される日でした。

We came here to Banna-ji today and it was a fulfilling experience. The place gives off very ancient but peaceful vibes. If you just want to stroll, pray, and just relax, this place is perfect. Just listening to the peaceful fluttering of the birds and the crow is so interesting. They also have a pond where there's a ton of kois. I really recommend this place because you can really smell the woods. And by just looking at the trees, I feel like I'm in a different world. My review is kind of poetic but you will know once you go there. The people were also friendly. We ask where we could park at the Syumai Store and they were really happy to assist us. When we go back here. I will definitely try their syumai. Overall, aside from being hot, it is recommended to go here in Autumn because of...
