YouMe Town Beppu — Attraction in Beppu

I’ve not wanted to leave bad comments about this place because it’s one of my favourite place in Beppu, but I HAVE TO say something today. It’s not the first time they show me the hatred without any reasons. The poor old lady who was working at the self-check in counter in Youme supermarket, followed and watched me and my friends when we headed over to grab chopsticks for the sushi and sashimi we’d just bought, making sure to get enough for everyone. But she suddenly shouted to us, “Nonononono!!!!” with very rude fingers gesture. I’d like to respect her own reason and situation but her behaviour is not accepted. She is just hostile toward foreign tourists. I wanted to communicate with her to ask reasons about the situation in Japanese but she made us thief just because of her personal opinion and ran out to other Japanese customer to avoid the responsibility of her fault. Very rude, and very disrespectful. Poor lady, just live your life. Stop being jealous...

I came here with a good mood but leaves with disappointments. The goods were fine but stuffs need to review themselves sincerely because of their attitude. In the first shop the stuff forgot to put in our commodities to the bags that we just purchased. Luckily the next day we awared of that when we opened the bags. So then back to the shop and get the goods.

But in second shop the stuff looks no patience talking to me and also wrote my country wrong without being sorry while I wanted to correct that mistake.

Is that all just because I couldn’t speak well Japanese ? If that so I am really disappointed with this kind of attitude.

However not everyone in Beppu were like that, I still meet someone kind and polite....

Very fun place to eat and shop!

The stores featured there cover diverse interests (clothes, shoes, gaming, stationery, etc.) and the staff is of course very friendly. You can definitely find something for your budget.

Before shopping we went to a sushi restaurant on the 1st floor and were not disappointed. Excellent food for a moderate amount of money. There are also desserts and coffee shops on various floors. Do try the Tully's Coffee shop next to the main entrance. My husband had a 'Classic Pancake' with butter and maple syrup while I sipped an almond praline soy latte......
