HAJIMARI Beppu — Hotel in Beppu

The room is spacious with washing machine and drying rack. The location is good as Lawson is just around the corner and shopping mall is within walking distance of 5 mins. However, the room is not sound proof. We can hear next room having a party with a bang bang sound at 11 pm. Noise of walking from next door and dragging the things around can be heard. If you travel with a group of 3 rooms, it will be perfect as they have 3 rooms on the 4th floor. We do not know how to contact the staff since it is not a hotel, no staff standby. Nice promise but upon arrival: the terrace highlighted in the listing was under renovation, we were never informed; Very strong solvent smell in the room (due to the aforementioned work); Non-existent soundproofing, you sleep to the sound of cars; The large patio door has no shutters, so you wake up with the sun; Automatic hallway light that takes more than 15 minutes to turn off, very annoying at night.

Pretty on the surface but severely lacking in hotel...

Staying at Hajimari was an absolute delight. The entire interior of the building is beautifully designed, with thoughtful details that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
