Two stars because it was an American day off and there were probably more patrons than expected, and because the food was fine when it came out.
Minus three because of myriad issues with our visit to Kupu Kupu. We've been several times throughout the years but this made enough of an impression to finally leave a review.
We were a party of four and it took our pancake & steak sets & ham sandwich an hour and forty-five minutes to be delivered Three groups of three people who were seated after us ordered, received their drinks, soups, edamame and meals, ate and left, before we received our appetizer (soups) Waitresses forgot about our drinks and soups, and when our soups were brought (after I asked after trying to flag a waitress down for twenty minutes), they were weak brown salt water instead of the advertised onion A group of four men next to us was served complimentary edamame, which we have received on other occasions here, after we had been waiting an hour with nothing, and we never got edamame Meals were brought out lukewarm when finally delivered; steak brunches were fine but the ham sandwich was not as advertised Guest's syrup had greens in it, probably meant to be sprinkled on the steak sauce or fries No apology or discount was offered after the meals were delivered almost two hours after ordering. We spent about three hours here total and wasted lots of precious time during an overseas trip our visitors were taking
The steak is usually great but the pancakes are just good on their best day. That day was totally unsatisfactory and angering. It was almost comical how the harried waitresses seemed to ignore us and forget about us. Last detail, we were polite and well-dressed intentionally.

Read moreWe found out about this place from friend when we first got to the island a year ago and we've been going ever since. The breakfast is absolutely awesome. I was never a pancake fan but decided to try the French pancake meal and I was then addicted! I crave them for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The French pancake combo meal comes with the tastiest little potato wedges, eggs, some kind of little salad (such as pasta salad) and your choice of bacon or sausage. The bacon is absolutely awesome and I prefer so much over the bacon back in America! and syrup up is some of the best syrup I've ever had!
The views of the ocean are amazing whether you sit inside out out on the deck at the cute surfboard shaped table.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is so charming with little antiques all around. They have an upstairs eating area with a kids play section and downstairs they have a little game where children can play and win a snack treat. They are so good to the kids when you come in and many times we've been given little trinket/toys for the kids to take with them. The kids meal also comes in an adorable space ship plate which my friend's son loved.
They except credit card which...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience for my first time here! The view is nice but parking is very limited so you may have to park further away and walk, but it is worth it!! It is very family oriented and they have a lot of things for the kids to look at on the walls and there are toys for them to play with to keep them occupied. You can sit upstairs or downstairs but if you have a group (more than 3-4) make sure you MAKE A RESERVATION because they are very popular and it fills up quickly. They offer a very unique spin to their breakfasts and they fill their pancakes with your choice of ingredients such as cheese or berries, etc.! They have played classy music and Christmas music this whole time and it is a very welcoming and happy vibe. Their menus are available in english with plenty of pictures. The staff is great with English and they are very sweet and polite. THEY ONLY TAKE CARD, no cash so prepare for that, and they will not accept tips. They turned mine down. They fix mistakes (if any) and are eager to make sure you have a wonderful experience so their customer service is very much appreciated. You will enjoy your...
