Smokin Slabz BBQ — Restaurant in Chatan

I was not impressed. The first thing walking in was the sticky floor which just drives me nuts. Is it too hard to clean a floor? The next thing was underneath the stairs was a storage unit. Not very well kept. Everything here says cheap with an expensive price. We went upstairs for a minute and the "office area" and it looked like someone might be staying there. Perhaps something I'm not used to from USA but was weird.

The food was subpar. It was barely warm and got cold fast, perhaps not very fresh. The ribs did not taste very good. Strange, rubbery, tough. I did like the smothered fries a lot and the brisket was good. The pulled pork was a little flavorless but was better with sauce. Being right on the sea wall I was hoping for better quality and a pleasant experience. This is a bar not a BBQ don't be fooled. Smokin Slabz BBQ, is 🔥 this place has definitely earned a new customer here today. 10/10 Let's start out with environment: before I had even walked up this place smelled absolutely amazing, smokehouse heaven and that's where I knew the food was going to be amazing. Next is location: It's right on a seawall with amazing views of the ocean paired with the fantastic lights from American Village across the water. I came here during evening time and it was a sight to see. Saving best for last, the food: The smell reels you in, but the food locked in the experience. I had the sample plate so I could try a little of everything. And everything on that plate was perfection, juicy, tasty, smokey, mouth watering, it felt like home eating here. The atmosphere is enlightening. You have a good mix of r&b as well as hip- hop and some oldies. The owners are very nice and can understand English pretty well. We went on a Saturday because that’s when they serve ribs and the platter. The ribs were smoked to perfection and the brisket was so tender and juicy. The chicken was well seasoned and the rice was just so good. We didn’t wait long at all after placing our order and price wasn’t expensive. This is one of the BBQ places that I can say comes close to the states. The lumpia is cooked to order and was also a good choice. My only issue was the macaroni.
