Greeting Googlers, if you are following my adventures then here is a Vietnamese restaurant in the sunabe area. Beautiful walk to get here since parking is tight and you’ll wanna park away and walk here. When you walk in and it’s not busy just grab a seat and someone will be with you. I really wanted to try their Banh Mi sandwiches since I miss the local places I frequented back home. My counterpart joined me and was in it for the Pho. So to start things off I wanted to make sure my sandwich didn’t have jalapeños or Vietnamese peppers in it since I’m used to having to request for my sandwich to not have them since I’m weak on the spice and after some clarification the waitress was able to confirm they do not make theirs with it. So if you do like a little spice in your Banh mi then be sure to ask for it. I also ordered a set of fried spring rolls and beef broth. I got the spring rolls fresh out the fryer and enjoyed the dipping sauce it came with. The sandwich followed and one thing I really appreciate about a good BBQ Pork Banh mi is the toasty exterior of the bread and the mix of the BBQ pork and veggies but the veggies were lacking a bit. Really could have used more of the pickled veggies. I was shocked there was lettuce since I’ve never seen them made that way but I liked it. The cucumber covered down on the pickled mix I was lacking giving me that crunch I like when I bit into these sandwiches. The bread was on point. Overall this place helped me fix the BBQ pork Banh mi craving I had. So my counterpart tried the pho and between us we felt this place has some improvements to get after on their broth. It didn’t pack the kind of pho flavor we have had generally at other places. To give this place credit though we are comparing it to places outside Okinawa so the ingredients here could be playing a factor. I’m excited to see this place and look forward to trying out the...
Read moreI was really missing Vietnam and wanted to give this highly rated place a try. I love banana anything so after 2 minutes it already stole my heart with a delicious banana smoothie. I was also impressed they had NA beer for my husband. Our server was so sweet and attentive. I ordered spring rolls and the chicken pho. It was ready quickly, both were amazing and SO fresh and flavorful! The only reason I’m giving the food 4 stars is because in Vietnam everything we had was made with cilantro, like literally everything. None of our food here came with any cilantro which was slightly disappointing, but small oversight compared to how great everything else was. We got lucky finding a nearby parking spot after circling the block a couple times, but parking is somewhat difficult to find. Next time I would love to try their Banh...

I ordered the fried rice-paper rolls, BBQ PORK SET, Pho special (the best), and bahn mi pate and pork sandwich. In my opinion, this is the closest to “authentic Vietnamese food” in Oki; comparable to my Vietnamese friend’s cooking back home. My husband loved the BBQ pork set, he said it reminded him of a Vietnamese restaurant back home (in Tampa, FL, USA) yay! My 3yr old son LOVES pho noodle soup. He asked for seconds! And we all loved the fried rice-paper rolls. Crispy and great taste.
The two women working there were so sweet and friendly! Payment accepted: ¥ yen cash and visa credit card.
We will definitely be visiting VietnamChan again...
