We were pleasantly surprised that staying at Air Terminal hotel allowed us complimentary entry to the New Chitose Airport Onsen.
Having been to a few other Onsen resorts during our trip to Hokkaido I have to say we were thoroughly impressed by the facilities available at this Onsen. We were provided yukata/pyjamas upon check in at reception. For those with big luggage, they will hold it at reception for you, scanned with the barcode you used to check in. For other smaller personal items you can either store it in the locker provided or this small safe outside the dressing room.
The locker system can be a bit confusing if you can't read Japanese. Basically it's a Japanese character with a number behind it which sort of categorizes which row your locker is at. Just need to match the locker number with the one on your key tag provided to you and you'll find it.
There are cubicles to shower down as per all onsens in Japan and they have 3 indoor pools and 2 outdoor pools. Males and females have different onsens. There are some (paid) massage packages available too.
The dressing room is also very well equipped, hairdryers, hair brush, hair tonics etc and even a vending machine with ties and inner wear!
Once done with the Onsen, there are even relaxation rooms for you to rest and also a game room and an eatery. Everything you need in one place. I believe they also have some (but limited) guest rooms for one to stay the night.
In all we were very impressed with the facilities at this Onsen and we will...
Read moreRest easy, fly refreshed at Chitose Airport Onsen!
I recently stayed overnight at Chitose Airport Onsen with my family to catch an early morning flight, and it was a fantastic experience! The facility is incredibly neat, clean, and well-managed, making our stay comfortable from start to finish.
The highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by their manager, Mr. Take. He was courteous, caring, and welcoming, ensuring that we felt right at home.
The two rest and relax halls with comfortable reclining chairs were perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. However, be aware that you might lose some sleep if other guests are snoring loudly.
Despite the overnight charge of 2000 Yen, the onsen is excellent value for money, especially considering the exorbitant rates of other airport hotels. The simple breakfast and free beverages available all the time were a nice touch and much appreciated.
Given that Chitose Domestic Airport closes at 11:30 PM, forcing passengers to vacate the premises, the onsen provides a crucial and convenient option for those critical night hours.
Overall, Chitose Airport Onsen is a wonderful place to stay, and I highly recommend it for any travelers needing an overnight stay before an...
Read moreIf you have relevant regulations, please treat everyone equally !!!but the staffs did not!!!! Japanese can eat ice cream inside, none of the staff go to stop that, If you from the other countries you can not, also if you checked in, you are not allowed to go back to bring any personal belongings(Even if they allowed the luggage to be placed in the designated location) , if you did, the staffs will followed you with rude attitude and disrespectful ,arrogantly and unreasonably language for foreigner ,the worst staff that I have ever ever ever ever seen. In order to attract customers, they put a sign at the door saying there will be no beds available soon making customers very anxious to check in, but the fact is that the lounge is basically empty, which is really speechless, such unscrupulous behavior. The airport is a place that receives tourists from all over the world. People taking easy rest here. But this place creates more troubles for travelers, whatever where you from I suggest you to book a hotel outside, do not spend...
