We are a couple who visited Kawaguchiko, stayed for 2 days (Mar.5-7, '23) and we opted the Deluxe cottage which was surely big enough for us. It has a homey vibe and you can definitely relax. Let me point out the pros coz I couldn't really think of any flaws, no hassles on this accomodation: ✅️ Communication with the staffs was not a problem at all. They speak english fluently. ✅️ You can directly reach out to them via Whatsapp / Telegram (provided contact no. on the internet) and you can ask nicely to fetch you at Kawaguchiko Stn. prior your arrival. They provided the transpo free of charge. (from Kawaguchiko Stn. - Lake Villa Kawaguchiko & vice versa, approx. 20mins away). The van was spacious & clean. ✅️ Reaching the Villa: Staff welcomed us warmly & hospitably. The bags & luggages were carried straight to our villa, explained the villa rules, extended extra mile by suggesting the best tourist spots & attractions, good restaurants nearby, informed us the weather forecast ahead & even give us heads up if Mt. Fuji is visibly clear (btw, Mt. Fuji can be seen just infront of the villa. Lake is just 5 mins away too!) ✅️ The Deluxe Cottage: Very spacious and clean. We can even just sleep at the room downstairs but still we wanted to experience the tatami bed which was surprisingly very comfy. Slippers were provided (slippers used for the inside and outside are different, please comply as sign of respect. Most Asians practice this gesture.😊) Toilets are provided with toiletries & bowl was convenient to use. Ours have bath tub too (no private onsen since it was already fully booked, so stop contemplating, better reserve ahead). The public onsen was closed which is understandable due to Covid safety measures. At the kitchen, you can also freely cook and use the appliances, complete utensils. Since we didn't cook and weren't able to go out due to snow fall, we just asked the staff to help us order our food online. We have 3 rooms, 2 rooms upstairs and 1 downstairs. (room 1: 3 single beds, room 2: tatami beds, room 3: living room I guess but has tatami and also spacious). Dining area was just infront of the kitchen counter. The water from the tap was drinkable as the staff said coz it's a spring water directly fron Mt. Fuji. It also has a porch where you can smoke and enjoy your coffee in the morning.😊 The villa has heater and ac. ✅️The view: Just step out of your villa. If you are lucky enough, Mt. Fuji will be clearly visible just in front of you. And since we're the lucky ones, an extra full snow experience was really awesome & unforgettable! ✅️Accessiblity/Proximity: Just walk for about 5-10mins, you'll reach the park, lake, restaurants, covenient stores. You can either be laid-back or explore some of the tourist spots. As mentioned, the staff will suggest and guide you through where you wish to go. ✅️Extras: You can never ignore the part of their family. Their cats are very cute and they will welcome you too as soon as you reached the place. ✅️ You can book if you want breakfast / dinner included.
Overall, It was an outstanding and superb experience. No wonder they have 5 stars for the review, but if you'd ask me, 5 stars is not enough. Million stars is what this villa deserve. Highly recommended and we wish to go back here. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience in...
Read moreThis is not our 1st trip to Japan, also not our 1st time visit Kawaguchiko, but definitely we agree that this hotel is the best hotel experience we’ve had in Japan overall, and Kawaguchi specifically. So if you are still deciding looking for places to stay in Kawaguchiko area, stop scrolling and book this place.
The location is perfect, especially of you come on Autumn. It’s not that close to the Kawaguchiko station, but very easy access through red line bus (the red bus only 3 minutes walk). There is not really mountain view from some rooms, but very close to the lake with the best mirroring mountain and the mountain itself (only 2 minutes walk). The area is very quiet and private but has 7-11 and Family mart in walking distances too. The oishi park (the best park in this area) also very easy accessible by bicycles. Btw they also have bike rent and their neighbor has very good electric bikes and kids bike too.
Besides all mentioned above, another highlights are: the room is very spacious (2floors with multiple beds), full equipped kitchen, the super friendly owner and the accurate and detailed information provided . And yes they have mountain facing onsen! Plus there is food truck every morning and selling very very delicious burgers (i am not burger fans but their burgers is exceptionally delicious).
Overall, we looooove this place and strongly...
Read moreSuper happy with my stay at the Villa. Staying at this villa is a no-brainer if I am travelling to Kawaguchiko again.
Room - Spacious and clean. My room was one half of a house that had 2 storeys, which was super spacious for my group of 5. For sleeping, there were Japanese futons and regular beds to choose from. There was also a kitchenette for cooking simple food. Super clean and tidy.
Service - Outstanding. We came to Kawaguchiko from a nearby town and the transportation in between was not very convenient. The host communicated with us via Whatsapp and helpfully provided suggestions. His English was just superb. On the day we left, he helped us reserve a bus back to Shinjuku and drove us to Kawaguchiko Station with his shuttle. Japanese people are courteous but the villa went the extra mile!
Location - Amazing. I arrived at night and could see Mount Fuji glimmering from a distance. It took a 3-minute walk from the villa to the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko. Wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise and the mirrored Mount Fuji! As for getting to the villa from the town centre, try catching the villa's shuttle. The villa is also 8 minutes from the nearest convenience store.
Extra - Cats! The host owns several cats and all of them were super friendly. They did not resist people...
