Lake Kawaguchi Maple Corridor — Attraction in Fujikawaguchiko

This Japan trip had a special highlight—visiting here during the Maple Leaf Festival. When I arrived, the maple leaves hadn't fully bloomed yet, but with a mix of green, yellow, red, and orange, the colors were even more vibrant and diverse.

There were many people taking photos, so finding the right angles to avoid the crowds was crucial. You can walk all the way up from here, and the maple trees along the way are beautiful, perfect for capturing stunning shots.

The atmosphere here during the day and night is completely different. In the evening, after taking photos and waiting for the sunset, the place lights up, creating a unique and enchanting ambiance.

We went on 8 Nov 23 during the momiji autumn festival. The momiji colours were at least at 60%. It was absolutely beautiful. The lake side walk on the opposite side of the street were also beautiful with stunning Fuji lake view. If you are a cat lover there’s a super cute champagne kitty near the small shine next to the lake. He loves pats and wanted food but I didn’t have any on me. 🥹It was quite crowded at the Momiji Corridor and the red line buses were super packed. Best to walk to Oishi Park from Momiji corridor (approx 20 mins walk along the lake), enjoy the sights there and take the red line bus (first stop) back to kawaguchi station, as you won’t be able to get on at the momiji corridor stop.
