Itâs my second time booking a glamping experience, this time at Kawaguchiko, but it was a special trip with my elderly parents and it was their first. We were 3 adults and 1 toddler and we booked their presidential tent for 4. (It was especially expensive due to the Sakura season)
Overall it was a good experience. We stayed for 2 nights and thankfully the weather cleared up the second day because the first day was cloudy and Mt Fuji was hiding behind the clouds.
Whatâs good: The VIEW. Thatâs what youâre REALLY paying for, if the weather is kind to you. Clean, full of amenities, comfortable⊠they provide a humidifier, a heater, electric blankets etc. Tents are very spacious. Staff and service was amazing. They are friendly, helpful and itâs the little touches and gestures that made us feel at home and warm (ie. Giving us extra jackets to keep us warm in the night at the outdoor deck) Bonfire was a sweet experience if only they were less stingy about charging us for the marshmallows.
What couldâve been better: Some of the cushions were quite worn out and torn. The toilet door couldnât close without tugging and lifting it up hard. Resulting in a knocking sound each time you try to close it. It would be great if there was floor heating even though slippers were provided (haha just a suggestion as the other glamping experience had that, and itâs really a game changer when the weather turns cold) Breakfast variety is quite sad. Honestly for the price paid for, I wished there was better variety or even just an addition of a serving of fruit?! Orange juice packets, some yogurt, ham toastie and thatâs it? I do think for the expensive prices charged, food quality and variety couldâve match the price paid. Dinner BBQ was ok. They gave a good amount of meat but nothing special really. Even the appetizer / salad was sad looking. Please do better for the price we...
Read moreGreat first time glamping experience for the family. The campsite is nicely perched on top of the slope overlooking the village, lake and a superb view of Mount Fuji.||Location - relatively accessible about 15 minutes drive from Kawaguchiko station (the accommodation offers free pickup). The route from the main road can be a little challenging, which is fine with no oncoming traffic (thatâs where the challenge is). The road leading in gets narrower and steeper and you would need to negotiate several sharp turns. While the area offers limited parking, I was always able to park by the side. Advice to go for a smaller car.||âRoomâ - we opted for a deluxe tent for five but the accommodation was relatively tight; there were four beds with a sofa bed, and all the basic facilities like shower, toilet, heater etc. Space is a premium but thatâs camping life. The BBQ dinner was particularly good - we had meat on the first night and seafood for the second. Meat is nicely marinated though scallops and oysters were very salty. There was also the bonfire which added to the experience. Overall great and please donât miss the dinner.||Amenities - very basic, the sauna was closed and there is little to do at the campsite given winter. ||Pricing - expensive comparatively but family loved it, so probably...
Read moreWe have stayed 3 nights, visited mid Oct. Night to early morning was very cold đ„¶ heater doesn't work that much at all. It is luxury camping so bugs often visit you, if you hate bugs, this is not for you. Most of the place got no shower but this one has which is handly when travel with young children. Breakfast you could choose Curry or ham sandwich so you might want to buy something at super market if you prefer something different. Dinner BBQ + campfire was great experience for kids, if you don't mind BBQ urself every night this will be great place. If you don't like the smell and oil on you, bring a set of clothes for BBQ and just stay 1 night. Service was good, very friendly and always gave us color fire power for the campfire. I will definitely comeback for the service, ppl who work there...
