As somebody mentioned before. The price for this place is over th e top.||We booked with breakfast included as mentioned by booking.com||We arrived around 4pm. Then he explain that breakfast is not included. He called booking.com and they explained as well it is not included. Ok. We asked to get breakfast and we will pay for. The owner told us this is not possible. Again a call to booking.com. After 30 minutes he accepted to sell breakfast but .. just after the second night ! ? How can it be that you can not have breakfast the next day ?||Dinner.||The write in booking.com :||A Western-style set breakfast is served at the dining lounge. A course dinner is also available in the dining area.||This is just not how it is. If you want to order dinner he is telling you you have to book one week ahead ?.....||How can it be. The next restaurant is 20 minutes away. There is no store close to this place. And for that you have to pay this price. We are since 3 weeks here in Japan and know a bit the prices and the service.||Other point. How you pay the place. Normally we pay with local currency at front.||Booking.com just took the whole amount from our creditcard account.||In the payment condition they mentioned that they can take a part...... Read moreThis hotel is impeccably clean and spotless. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this place. Don’t miss enjoying the lounge with a view of Fuji. We also loved the private bathing rooms and the jacuzzi room with the Fuji view.
Our party booked two rooms. One with a Fuji view and one without. Both rooms are very comfortable with AC. We would recommend booking the room with a view since the cost is not too much extra. That room can also fit up to four people (two on the futon).
The location is great. Though it feels like it’s located in a rural area among farmland, it’s only a ten minute walk from the shore of lake Kawaguchiko and some other sights around the area like the maple corridor and some museums. We do recommend having a car to get to and from the hotel and around the Kawaguchiko area since public transportation connections are prolly not as convenient around there. There is ample parking space.
The owner is very friendly. He held a live music session in the evening and took song requests. He also distills his own liquor which he uses in the drinks that are pretty affordable (550yen).
Thank you for...
Read moreOur stay at Cresendo Kawaguchiko was a bit of a mixed experience. On the plus side, the host was warm and helpful, the rooms were spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We also appreciated the lovely gesture of steamed sweet potatoes as a parting gift!
However, there were some drawbacks. The location was quite far off, making it inconvenient if you're not driving. The numerous big steps to reach the lobby and rooms on level 2 were a challenge, especially with heavy luggage. We were also surprised to find our room was designated for smoking, which left a lingering smell. Thankfully, the host promptly brought an extra air purifier to help alleviate the issue.
Despite these issues, the stay was still pleasant, and we enjoyed the comfortable rooms and friendly service. The front-facing rooms with Mt. Fuji views are a definite highlight, but unfortunately, our room faced the back "garden" with no view, which was a letdown.
Overall, my experience was mixed, and I had high expectations based on previous reviews. While Cresendo Kawaguchiko has its charm, it's essential to be aware of the potential drawbacks...
