Our stay at fuji-Hakone guest house was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I visited for our honeymoon and were grateful to be welcomed into the home of this beautiful family, and ライト! They were so very thoughtful about every little detail; from a room with an amazing view to little gifts to make our trip extra special (the host’s mother gave us a newspaper from the day so that we could have it to remember what happened in Japan while we were on our honeymoon. Soo so thoughtful) Our host was incredible, and his sister and mother were precious gems! All so very kind and genuine. They made an effort to get to know us and make their home ours. The host and his sister know English quite well, so conversing was easy and enjoyable! And their puppy is so sweet, too! The onsen was so lovely. We found ourselves starting and ending our days in there. Incredibly relaxing, romantic and a great help to sore muscles after lots of sightseeing! Though, we didn’t try the outdoor one because it had snowed while we were there and we weren’t brave enough to face the cold haha! There is a bus stop 5 minutes (by walking) from the front door, and they have loads of helpful information that they go over with you; bus routes, best tourist and sightseeing spots, best restaurants, etc. we were able to see so much even when tons of things closed due to the snow storm we had. The amenities were always very clean and easily attainable, though the restrooms are shared which took some getting used to (as I am a late night pee-er lol). There are also some shorter beams that my tall husband bonked his head on a couple times, but that just added to the memories :) The futons (beds) were SO comfortable and warm, considering it snowed while we were here! (which was also magical!). They have gas heaters only that you can only leave on for certain periods of time, and only during the day, so we were surprised at how toasty and cozy we were in those beds! We were in Japan for 2 weeks and stayed here for 2 nights. We agree this was the best place we stayed the entire trip, even though we stayed at a couple 5 star hotels. Everything was just so perfect and wonderful. We were so happy we got to enjoy some beautiful Japanese culture. Thank you for for everything! We cant wait to visit again some day! This is a beautiful guest house and extremely well connected by several bus stops closeby in walking distance to Hakone. We didn’t stay overnight here. Our intent was just to check out the onsen. Most of you would know that it’s hard to find an onsen that allows people with tattoos. This is one of those few foreigner friendly and tattoo friendly places. The onsen experience was out of this world. We booked for an hour thinking it’s too little. But a few mins in the onsen and you realize that an hour is pretty good. There are many onsens in Japan where the water isn’t naturally heated. This one comes directly from the source and is rich in minerals. An hour makes you feel younger by a couple of years. They provided us with a private onsen and towels and showering facility. After the onsen, we spent some time sitting warm green tea and charging the phones. A great experience overall and highly recommended place. Not a very upmarket place - but does the job pretty amazingly well

The friendly but unobtrusive staff make it very easy to set up for a few days visit to this picturesque and quiet region. they give you a very helpful half hour to briefing on arrival, and there are well organized binders of suggestions for activities, in English. Spare but perfectly adequate tatami mat rooms, pleasant mineral onsen bath included in the room rate (small premium for the outdoor onsen). Decent breakfast. This was our rest stop between Kyoto and Tokyo, anticipating mad crowds, but found lots of room and few lineups. NB: rather sporadic restaurant openings adjacent to the guest house, with seemingly little English spoken, but hospitality overcame all

My stay at this guest house was wonderful. Everything is so peaceful and welcoming; it's the perfect place to relax. The futons and yukata are very comfortable. The baths are beautiful and perfect for taking a break. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist you. I thank them for their kindness. If I come back to Hakone, I would like to stay with them again. +++ : You can easily reach the guest house by bus from Hakone station. The guest house is ideally located for Hakone Venetian Glass Museum and hiking Mount Kintoki (a 15-minute walk), which I highly recommend if you're in the area; the scenery is stunning.

Relaxing & enjoyable—I stayed for two evenings at this clean little guest house in mid-May 2023. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is convenient: - a 2 minute walk from the bus stop running to major attractions & the train station - 2 convenience stores, both about a 5 minute walk away -numerous restaurants within a 5 minute walk They have an indoor mineral pool and an outdoor mineral pool, you can sign up to use either privately on a small board. Tattoos OK! The indoor is free, the outdoor reservation is 500 yen/person.
