Great experience in the market. There are many kinds of food stands to choose with reasonable price. You can find traditional Kochi food stand, Indian food, western style like pizza and pasta, Taiwanese good, and sushi. If you visit here with a group of friends, you do not have to worry that you cannot reach the agreement of food option. Once you pick the food you’d like, sometimes it’s not that easy to find seats. The food market provide toilets too, tidy and clean as usual Japanese style. The only concern for foreign visitor is that food menu does not really have English, yet comes with pictures. A great place to rest a bit when you spend the whole morning in Sunday market. Personally I will recommend the very popular stand which sell grilled fish at the entrance. Try to avoid lunch time around 12:00-13:00 or it will take you almost 50 mins to queue.

An amazing market with a mix of restaurants, street food, tourist souvenirs, ice cream, etc. Also plenty of indoor food court style benches to enjoy your food. It can get really crowded, especially on the day passenger cruise ship docked in Kochi. Tried a bunch of different kind of food - the croquet is amazing, specialty of the place is grilled bonito fish - looks awesome but not my kind of fish, fried chicken is amazing, the oden (boiled vegetable and fish cake) is pretty good, especially the daikon and bamboo shoot. Did not try the sushi/sashimi or the indian food. If you're into bonito flakes, etc. There are plenty of grocery style shops that sells them - both the shavings or the entire smoked bonito for you to bring home and shave yourself.

Wonderful food court bustling with locals and a delcious variety of foods. Order food and drink at the stalls and sit in the common area to enjoy with the locals. There are food options for ever taste: sushi, udon, soba, izakaya and more. I highly recommend trying the katsuo (known as bonito fish in English). It is a local red meat fish with flesh that looks similar to tuna, but the taste is stronger. It is usually cooked on an open flame grill over straw and is a must try if you're in Kochi. Also try a drink with yuzu. It's a refreshing Japanese citrus that is often used as a mixer in cocktails.

One of the best places to get fresh Katsuo (Bonito) Tataki (Lightly seared). Half the shops sell it in this marketplace. You can also buy fried chicken, dumplings, grilled kebab skewers, and much more! There's a Japanese sweets shop in one hidden side of the marketplace, and it does Hojicha (roasted green tea) flavoured ice cream, with Japanese style cakes, manju, on top. Yum! The bad point is that the seats are almost always filled to the brim and you won't be able to find seating. My friends and I decided to sit down on some benches in a shopping arcade outside the marketplace.
