レイクタウンの名の由来でもある湖（正確には調整池）の周りには遊歩道が設置され、ところどころに広場や公園なども設けられています。周辺は住宅地ですが、池の近くは自然が残され、ビオトープなどもあって、美しい風景を楽しむことができます。アウトレットモールからは近いので、買い物ついでにちょっと立ち寄るのもよいと思います。なお、遊歩道をたどって池の周りを一周することも可能ですが、30分くらいかかります。

越谷周辺には大きな池のある公園や貯水池がたくさんあるが、ここは特に大きく、近くに中川や元荒川があるためか、鳥の動きも活発で、多くの種類が見られるためバードウォッチングに最適だと思う。特にカワウの動きが活発で、他の場所では休憩している感じだが、ここでは活発に潜って餌を撮っているのでイキイキとした様子が見られる。ただ、広すぎてなかなか一周するとかできない。
