平安京朱雀大路跡銘板： 平安京の朱雀大路は，朱雀門から羅城門まで，南北に4キロメートルにわたって延びる，平安京のメインストリートである。幅は84メートルほどあり，並木として柳が植えられていた。本来，朱雀大路が都の中心とされていたが，右京域の衰退により中心から外れたため，平安時代を通じて徐々に荒廃・縮小していった。加えて，朱雀門以北の内野(旧大内裏)には道が北進していき，鎌倉時代には「千本通」と呼ばれるようになる。 　この地は，昭和50年(1975)に発掘調査が行われ，初めて朱雀大路の痕跡が確認された場所である。 建立年 1975年 建立者 京都市 寸　法 高68×幅111×奥行97cm 碑　文 [北] 平安京朱雀大路跡 朱雀大路は、平安京の朱雀門から南へ羅城門まで、平安京の中心を南北約4kmにわたって走る主要大路である。 道路の幅は28丈(約84m)をはかり、両側には溝、犬走、垣が設けられ、さらに柳の並木がこの大路に色どりを添えていたといわれる。朱雀大路の両わきには、貴族の邸宅や役所の建物などがた ちならび、迎賓館としての東、西鴻臚館や天皇家別邸である朱雀院などもそこに建てられていた。 この大規模な道路も、平安後期ごろから無用の長物と化して、鎌倉以後、急速にその機能を失い、荒廃していった。この朱雀大路の痕跡をとどめるのが、現在の千本通りである。 現在地は昭和50年夏、秋の発掘調査によって、朱雀大路の一 角が発見された地点である。ここでは、平安京楊梅小路と朱雀大路の交差点を中心に、朱雀大路東側溝が延長120mにわたって検出され、はじめて朱雀大路の正確な位置が確認されたのである。 昭和53年9月1日　京都市 Heiankyo Suzaku-oji Ruins Nameplate: Suzaku-oji Street in Heian-kyo is the main street of Heian-kyo, stretching 4 kilometers north-south from Suzaku-mon Gate to Rajo-mon Gate. Originally, Suzaku-oji Street was considered the center of the capital, but due to the decline of the Ukyo area, it was deviated from the center, and it gradually fell into disrepair and shrinkage throughout the Heian period. In addition, the road went north to the Uchino (former Daidairi) north of Suzakumon, and in the Kamakura period it was called 'Senbon-dori.' This area was excavated in 1975 and was the first place where traces of Suzaku Oji were confirmed. It is said that the width of the road was 28 jō (approximately 84m), with ditches, dog runs, and fences on both sides, and a row of willow trees that added color to the road. On both sides of Suzaku Avenue, there were residences of nobles and buildings of government offices. In addition, Higashi and Nishi Korokan, which served as guest houses, and Suzakuin, a villa of the imperial family, were also built there. From around the late Heian period, this large-scale road became useless, and after the Kamakura period, it rapidly lost its function and fell into disrepair. Today's Senbon-dori remains the remains of Suzaku-oji. The current location was found to be part of Suzaku-oji Street during excavation in the summer and autumn of Showa 50 (1975). This is the point where the horn was found. Here, a 120-meter long ditch on the east side of Suzaku-oji Street was detected centering on the intersection of Heiankyo Yangbai-koji and Suzaku-oji Street, and the exact location of Suzaku-oji Street was confirmed for the first time. 下京区中堂寺坊城町にあるのが「平安京朱雀大路跡銘板」になります。 「平安京朱雀大路跡銘板」の銘板によると朱雀大路は、平安京のメインストリートで朱雀門から羅城門まで、南北に4キロメートルにわたって延びていた大路になります。道幅は84メートルほどあり、並木として柳が植えられていた。 同地は、昭和50年(1975年)に発掘調査が行われて、初めて朱雀大路の痕跡が確認された場所になるとの事でした。 「平安京朱雀大路跡銘板」がぽっんと設置されているだけで遺構を見ることは出来ません。

2025年9月再訪 中京中学校の少し北に「平安京大内裏朱雀門跡」の石碑がある。そこから、都の南端の羅城門まで南に延びていた大路が朱雀大路になる。発掘調査で朱雀大路の痕跡がみ...
