駒札: 上徳寺(じょうとくじ) 塩竈山(えんそうざん)と号し浄土宗に属する。 寺伝によれば、慶長八年(1603)に、徳川家康によって、上徳院殿(阿茶の局)が開基となり、伝誉蘇生(でんよそせい)上人を開山に招じて建立した寺といわれる。寺内に泰栄院の宝篋印塔がある。 以後度重なる火災により、堂宇、塔頭は焼失し、現在の諸堂は明治時代に再建されたもものである。 本堂は、宝暦三年(1753)建立の永観堂の祖師堂を移築したものである。堂内には、江州矢橋(やばせ)〔滋賀県〕の鞭崎(むちさき)八幡宮から移したといわれる阿弥陀如来像を安置している。 境内の地蔵堂は、明治四年(1871)に再建され、高さ二メートル余の石地蔵を安置している。この地蔵は「世継(よつぎ)地藏」と呼ばれ、往古から、良い世継ぎが授かる御利益があるとして遠近の人々の信仰を集めている。 また、境内には江戸時代の冠句の唱導者・堀内雲鼓(ほりうちうんこ)〔1728年没〕の句碑及び墓がある。 京都市 Charm: Jotoku-ji Temple It is called Enso-zan and belongs to the Jodo sect. According to temple legend, the temple was founded in 1603 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, who invited the monk Denyososei to be the founding priest. Within the temple is the Hokyoin pagoda of Taiei-in. Since then, the temple and sub-temples have been destroyed by repeated fires, and the current buildings were rebuilt in the Meiji period. The main hall was relocated from the Soshido hall of Eikando, which was built in 1753. Inside the hall is a statue of Amida Nyorai, said to have been moved from Muchisaki Hachimangu Shrine in Yabase, Goshu (Shiga Prefecture). The Jizo hall on the temple grounds was rebuilt in 1871 and houses a stone Jizo statue that is over two metres tall. This Jizo statue is called "Yotsugi Jizo" and has long been worshipped by people from near and far as it is believed to bring the blessing of granting good successors.
