My experience at this hotel was exceptional. The hotel is clean. I checked for signs of bed bugs and didn’t see anything. We stayed for 4 nights, 5 days and there is a mandatory cleaning on the 3rd day which was good. They try to keep the place in top condition. The location is excellent. There’s a subway station about 5-8 min walk east and west of the hotel, and Kyoto station to the south. There’s also a station to the north that’ll take you to Osaka in 45 minutes. It’s a 13 min walk to Nishiki market and it’s a short ride away to Kiyomizu-dera and the shopping district. Fushimi Inari is about 4 subway stops away. Really convenient! Also they give you a large varieties of toiletries including toothbrushes, q tips, facial lotion, sun block etc. They provide pajamas in the lobby if you wish to use them. There are washing machines too. The water goes through a filter system so it’s safe to drink from the tap. It also turns hot quick and the water pressure is strong. The bathrooms have a bidet with heated seats which a lot of us loved. Most importantly the customer service is top notch! I was able to book the luggage delivery service no problem to Tokyo. Also when my family member got a bad rash from mosquito bites, they were able to call a local dermatologist that could speak English to help. They went above and beyond for us which I really appreciate! For that alone, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It’s the best budget hotel I’ve ever used in all my travels throughout Asia. My family member said the same. The room is small, but they do indicate the size online. Please make sure you’re okay with the size. I will gladly stay here again...
Read moreSotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto Kiyomizu Gojo.||The location is close to two Metro lines. It is the next station from Kyoto Station on the Kasasuma line. The Kamo river is just a minute walk.||This establishment has the best buffet from our stay at Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. The buffet was quite generous. It had both, Japanese and continental options. Both 7 Eleven and Lawson outlets were very close. ||The establishment and the rooms were clean. The towel and sheets were brilliant white. The bathroom was fine. The rooms are cleaned after three days. The fresh towels are provided daily, if requested without entry to room.||The check in was torturous. It took 30 to 45 minutes to complete that. The staff had great difficulty in finding the bookings even though we have the details on our mobile phone app. The rooms were not suited for double occupancy. With two beds, there is no space for bags. We were on a 17 day trip to Japan and each room had double occupancy and two suitcases. That was terrible. Unfortunately, there is no facility to unpack the suitcase and push it under the bed. There was no wardrobe or shelves for that. Further, the double beds have two sides flush with the walls and one side has a very thin strip which gets blocked by the suitcase. One person has to go over the other, to get to the second bed. || There is coin laundry available which was very convineint for...
