This place wasn’t on my radar for Kyoto intially, happened to see it while in the area early in the morning. My travel buddy is a scent enthusiast so we made a reservation online (admittedly, this is difficult.. but worth the tinkering on the stores Instagram to snag a res) for another location in town. We happen to walk by this location at around 5 PM and they let us in to make two custom fragrances, even though we didn’t have a reservation at this particular store. Moriuchi was really enthusiastic and helpful while we were sniffing various fragrances to make our own custom perfumes, and he was nice enough to adjust my perfume until I was perfectly happy with it. I loved making a custom label for my bottle and they even printed it in Japanese! The equivalent of roughly $60-70 for a 100ml bottle, highly highly recommend you’re in the area and you want a unique souvenir or gift.

I came into the store ~20 min prior to my reserved time slot, but was helped immediately! Tokunaga was so sweet in helping me out and making recommendations for what percentages to set each scent I chose. She even stepped aside and asked if I would like an aesthetic photo of my completed perfume with the store sign! I am so glad I had this experience and will cherish the perfume I made today ☺️ 2024 November: I came back and brought my Fiancé to make his own perfume! Tanaka helped me today, and despite how busy it was inside the store, she took great care to help us pick the best combination of scents. She was also so sweet and funny and made our experience so memorable. We are excited to wear our new scents as we continue our trip in Japan! :)

Isotani was such a great help! She helped with the formulation of a scent for myself and someone else. The process is very unique; instead of choosing notes, you try and smell "numbers" before you make a mix. It's wonderful for fixing scents that you like rather than what you think you like. They're very foreign friendly as well, and I think it's a great experience. 5/5 would recommend! For those fragrance nerds like myself, there are no harsh or dirty niche notes. Everything is a clean, floral or citrus like sweet scent. Even the sandalwood and tobacco smell clean and sweet. I think it's a great stop to make yourself something that's appropriate for Japan, especially given how light they remain

I had the most incredible experience creating my custom scent, 京都キス (Kyoto Kiss). From the moment I walked in, Okamoto was so welcoming and patient. I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go at first, but she took her time helping me discover the perfect blend of violet, lemon, and vanilla. Her knowledge and gentle guidance made the entire process feel special and personalized. I walked out with a scent that feels like me and makes me think about my trip to Japan. Thank you, Okamoto, for making this such a memorable part of my Kyoto trip. Highly recommend to anyone who wants something one-of-a-kind and unforgettable!
