Kyoto Tsuburano — Restaurant in Kyoto

We were terribly lucky. We were walking in our yukatas, the street was crowded, we were starving, the heat was unbearable... and we just saw the Tsuburano. It looked nice, so we just decided to enter... Best decision ever! They had fortunately space, so they accomodated us. There were no many options to choose, so we ordered both of the menus available. And they were was just delicious. The best waygu beef we have ever tried: tender, melted in the mouth, so tasty. And the Kyoto specialities menu was just incredible, the finest variety of bite size delicatessen. And they were so sooo helpful! They spoke just enough english (software filled the gaps), and all the staff was soooo nice, soooo friendly! We just fall in love. Nearly 100 degrees today, after today's wonderful Hanagasa-Junko. The street is full of selfie-seekers and Instagramers, but the gem of the neighborhood is here. We were welcomed in by the kindest proprietress, who offered us one of the most delicious, healthy, and harmonious dishes in Kyoto. The tea selections and rear courtyard were great additions to setting a great mood. All of this is good, but one important reason remains: you should support this establishment because tourists of every walk come and stand in front of it, to crow and get their 'money shot' of the pagoda close by. Their rudeness knows no bounds - standing in the front walkway, blocking the doors, using their front fence to hang hats and backpacks. The restaurant only accept reservations. But they were flexible for us to reservation they asked us to pick set menu in advance and wait or come back in 45 minutes.

It was worth the wait. There were two set lunch options: beef rice salad set or traditional bite sizes mini dishes (fish, egg, yam, veggies..) dishes. Both set comes with delicious soup bowl. We enjoyed our food a lot.
