If you are heading for Matsuyama castle, be sure to include this as part of your trip. It's located at the entrance of the castle perimeter and provides an alternative way besides walking up to the castle. The cable/lift are same-priced, but with a different experience. The cable can accommodate more people during a 3-minute period. The lift can only seat one person during a 6-minute ride, and it's recommended to people who want to pursue a little bit of thrilling and exciting experience. You can also directly see Matsuyama castle along the way.

My personal suggestion would be to take the lift on your way up to the Matsuyama castle, and walk down when you are ready to leave. The walk down is about 10 to 15 minutes easy walk and is also pretty enjoyable. In this way, you get to have diverse experiences here when visiting...

Matsuyama Castle, located atop a 132-meter hill, offers two convenient options to reach the summit: a ropeway and a lift. Both start from the Shinonomeguchi Station at the base and take you near the top to Chojaganaru Station. Tickets are shared for both, so you can choose whichever experience suits you. The ropeway operates every 20 minutes, while the lift runs continuously, making it a quicker option with no wait times. Though the ropeway provides limited views on the way up, the scenic ride is enjoyable, offering beautiful vistas of Matsuyama City once you reach the top.

Both options are affordable and offer a relaxing way to ascend the hill, especially for those who want to save energy for exploring the castle and its expansive grounds, which include the Ninomaru Garden and...

There are many options: 1: Round trip with castle entrance-1040yen 2: Round trip - 540yen 3: one-way trip - 270yen

I choose the 3option since I want to stroll down and it does not take long to walk down maybe around 10mins.

There is option for cable car or rope chair. I chose the rope chair since I want to try it. No safety belt so you are literally sitting on a chair that is moving above the ground. It is not that high, but if you are afraid of heights then maybe cable car will be better or best walk up the slope. It was nice experience since it was my first time. If you are lazy to walk down, take the round trip. You can take different one to come down. The option is open since the price is the...

Can you believe these locations in Shikoku get less than 1,000 visitors a year? 🤯🌸If you want to enjoy breathtaking cherry blossoms without the crowds, Shikoku will not disappoint you. Here are my favourite sakura spots in Shikoku: 🌸 Shiudeyama On top of Mt Shiude bloom 1,000 cherry blossoms with a spectacular panoramic view over the Seto Inland Sea and mainland Japan. In my opinion, this is one of the best Cherry blossom spots in the whole country. 🌸 Takamatsu Castle (Tamamo Park) Tamamo park was developed on the ruins of Takamatsu Castle and has become a national historic site where locals do their hanami with enough space for everyone. 🌸 Takaya Shrine The torii in the sky is always worth a view but I found it to be incredibly beautiful in spring being engulfed by cherry blossom trees to all sides. 🌸 Matsuyama Castle Ropeway A super fun experience is taking the ropeway up to Matsuyama Castle - you not only get a spectacular view of the city but the ride up also involves cherry blossom trees to both sides. 🌸 Ritsurin Garden One of the most beautiful traditional gardens of Japan, you can find a cherry blossom tree here that is being used as a Sakura forecast all over Japan! The tree is over 300 years old and definitely cherry blossom royalty. Make sure to sign up for the traditional boat tour - it's lots of fun!
