Amanohashidate Beach — Attraction in Miyazu

This has become my new favorite beach in Kansai and let me tell you why:

As a long-time resident of Osaka and Hyogo, I have always been on the lookout for beaches I can easily get to using public transportation.

Suma Beach in Kobe has earned its reputation as a “dirty” beach littered with cans of beer and all the mess that comes with beach-goers.

The nearby Asagiri Beach in Hyogo is quite nicer and also accessible by train, but it is relatively quite exposed to the heat of the sun. Showers are also coin-operated ones.

Takeno Beach in Hyogo is easy to get to if you take the express train, but from the station it is about 15-20 minutes on foot. The beachfront is also exposed. To get shade from the seasonally operated rest houses, you have to pay 800 yen. Showers are also paid for. The water here is the cleanest and the sand the finest at least in the Hyogo area.

Now, the water in Amanohashidate Beach is not as clean, and an assortment of rocks will greet your feet in the water (I highly recommend aqua shoes!) But what makes this place so lovable is the availability and abundance of free facilities (showers, toilets, and natural shade from the well-maintained pine trees). When I tried jogging in the morning to catch the sunrise, I saw an old lady driving a small compact car collecting the trash from the bins and cleaning the toilets.

It is also quite close to the nearest station, onsen (Chie-no-yu and Amanohashidate Hotel), tourist information center, and bus stop.

And if you’re done swimming, you can enjoy a quick and easy run amongst the pine trees. There are temples, shrines, and observation decks. There is also a turning bridge (the first of its kind that I have ever seen so far) that makes way for tour boats that...

Beautiful path surrounded by "Aomatsu" (green/blue pines). It's worth a little walk even if you don't cross it. There are many boards with interesting information, please take a look at them! I don't know if it's a beach where you can have a bath, but the day I went, it didn't look like so, which is a shame!

★ビーチも水も比較的奇麗で設備も充実。朝早くに行けば、さほど混んでいないので、午前は海水浴、午後は観光とダブルで楽しめるのがメリット。 ・お盆過ぎの8/18日（日）に行きました。 ・近隣の駐車場が１日停めて1000円。朝9時の時点で駐車場は自分も含めて2台のみ。6時で閉まるのでそこだけ注意。 ・ビーチへは少し歩きます。5～10分。 ・トイレは近くにあります。無料の水シャワーと更衣室もありますが、更衣室は潔癖の方は注意。 ・ビーチの砂が非常に細かくさらさらで、砂遊びが楽しめます。 海岸線は海草が沢山打ち上げられていて、砂にはまばらに小石が混ざっています。貝は拾えませんでした。 ・水は透明度が高めで、水中眼鏡で魚が泳いでいるのが確認できます。 ・くらげは見ませんでした。 ・遊泳区域がブイで区切られていて、その外側はジェットが行き来していました。 ・海草が多く切れ端や細かいゴミが浮いていました。 ・満ち引きの具合にもよりますが、海辺から5～10ｍほど沖へ歩くと足が付かなくなり、足元に海草が生えています。 ・ライフセーバーが常時見回りをしてくれているので、比較的安心感はありますが、子供は浮き輪や、ライフジャケットを着用していた方が良さそうです。 ・主に家族連れが多く、次にカップルや男女グループ、若い女性が数組来ていました。ナンパ目的と言う男の子はほとんど居ませんでした。 ・小学生と幼稚園の子供を連れて行きましたが、浮き輪での遊泳と砂遊びを堪能し、満足したようです。午前中で引き上げました。 ・気温が32℃程度だったので、その日は風が強く、濡れると寒かったです。 ・観光地が近いので、午後からは「また覗き」に行きました。 ・観光地というので、飲食店く、昼食もそこで済ませました。海鮮が新鮮で脂も乗っていて非常に美味しかったです。娘の頼んだあさりうどん（冷）が美味しかったです。 ・「また覗き」までの移動はボートがおススメ。子供はテンションがあがります。大人往復1000円子、供往復500円、未就学児無料。レンタサイクルもあります。 ・午前と午後で海水浴と観光を楽しめるのでそういう意味でもいい海水浴場です。 潜ったり泳いだりをもっと楽しみたいなら少し移動すればいい海岸が沢山あるのでそちら...
