Went in April 2023. The hotel is walkable to the only natural hot spring facility in town. 100 for Service. Special shoutout to the service staff!Location wise, it is centrally located within Nagano, however transportation wise would be more convenient to stay at Nagano station. The hotel is quaint and quiet with decent restaurants available within the building. Appreciate the flexibility to extend my stay for one night at Hotel Kokusai 21. Local drivers know the location of the building which is convenient for people who does not speak Japanese. Booked a room for 3, appreciated that the sofa bed was set up prior to arrival (some hotels only does this after you have reached, which increases waiting time.) Working fridge. Requested for a change in kettle and they provided one swiftly despite the language barrier. The hotel lobby is also a joy to walk into daily as they provide an exhibition of a samurai celebrating boy's day in Japan (5th May) with koi flags hanging at the back. A souvenir shop is also located within the lobby for last minute shoppers. Fun fact, this souvenir shop is not more expensive than at the train station.
