Two adults two teens stayed in a Quad room (2 singles 2 rollaway beds) in Jan 2025 for 5 nights and separate corner sofa. The hotel is huge with different wings so need to get your bearings. Nagano was our base for day trips to snow monkeys, Matsumoto, and to ski. The hotel is older (winter Olympics HQ) but was generally well maintained. Front desk staff were amazing, they had limited English but used a translator, and so friendly every time we passed and so helpful booking restaurants and forwarding luggage (note cash only and this hotel will only forward to a hotel, not the airport). We had breakfast every day which was compact but tasty (Nagano apple juice and apple jam are delicious). We had Italian in the hotel our first night, it was ok and convenient. The top floor bar had a pretty night view, fixed price for a small but well stocked self serve bar and packaged snacks. The hotel free shuttle to/from the station is convenient, but for early or late trips we just got a taxi for Y1,000. Ten minutes pleasant walk to the shopping street leading to the temple. There are only two washing machines and dryers in the hotel so they got very busy but were really useful (coins required, no coin machine but desk staff happy to change). I was initially unsure about this hotel and staying 5 nights but we really enjoyed it and would...
Read moreWent in April 2023. The hotel is walkable to the only natural hot spring facility in town. 100 for Service. Special shoutout to the service staff!Location wise, it is centrally located within Nagano, however transportation wise would be more convenient to stay at Nagano station. The hotel is quaint and quiet with decent restaurants available within the building. Appreciate the flexibility to extend my stay for one night at Hotel Kokusai 21. Local drivers know the location of the building which is convenient for people who does not speak Japanese. Booked a room for 3, appreciated that the sofa bed was set up prior to arrival (some hotels only does this after you have reached, which increases waiting time.) Working fridge. Requested for a change in kettle and they provided one swiftly despite the language barrier. The hotel lobby is also a joy to walk into daily as they provide an exhibition of a samurai celebrating boy's day in Japan (5th May) with koi flags hanging at the back. A souvenir shop is also located within the lobby for last minute shoppers. Fun fact, this souvenir shop is not more expensive than at the...
Read moreStayed here for Nagano Marathon. The hotel provides scheduled shuttle service to and from Nagano Station.
The hotel also provides shuttle service to the starting point of the race. It’s a great help because most of the people who take the train still need to walk 20 minutes from train station to the starting point. However do take note there is only 20 seats in the bus for 6am and 6:40am. I took the 6:40 am shuttle bus from hotel to starting point. So grateful to the hotel’s support and arrangement.
They even provided breakfast earlier just for the marathon runners at 5am. 🙏🏻 I had a hearty meal before the race.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. They also allowed u to store our luggage for two days as we travel. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 the male staff with curly hair is the best! He deserve an award!
This will be my first choice for hotel stay if I run Nagano Marathon again.
Thank you for the...
