MIO is connected to the MIO Plaza building and the Tennoji station. There are sky walks going to other central areas and chain stores. There are storage lockers for your luggage 🧳 in multiple areas. I stored my suitcase in the food hall section; it's right around the corner from a dessert toast / parfait place and a Lolita store. Then off to do some last minute shopping before my flight!
They have a lot of fashion clothing here; Harajuku fashion at a mid-range price. I would have bought an intricate coat if it wasn't so heavy. There are also lovely home goods stores, a Daiso, some other typical Japanese chains, like GU and Muji. They also have a lot of jewelry and accessories stands, many girly items for teens.
As for food, they have some quick order places, food court type stuff, dessert cafes, bakeries, and those Asian fusion restaurants selling mainly noodles and sundaes. Two Starbucks as well. They basically have all types of Japanese food you can think of but all at a 3-star rating.
The 6th floor has a lot of character shops including Moomin and Totoro things. Pop Mart is there too fittingly.
The other good thing about this mall is the bathrooms are different on each floor, very themed with their own characteristics.
I am taking off a star because the place is not well-maintained. The worst part is if you have any issues, I am sure customer service will be unhelpful and only fluent in Japanese. The building is pretty old and therefore, dirty. It gets a lot of foot traffic being in the intersection of things. There is no wifi. The layout is whack and it is full of people in a rush to catch the train. You get...

The atmosphere is modern and exudes luxury and glamour. But it has a very stupid prohibition, in my opinion, regarding visitors, because the brands that work there are not exclusive, as if the world did not know: It is forbidden 🚫 to take pictures. Sounds like a joke but that's it. The Tennoji MIO building is located inside the JR Tennoji Station complex so this place is easily accessible. Go there with a full wallet...
Read moreLocated just above the JR Tennoji station, this shopping mall is home to over 300 shops selling merchandise ranging from designer clothing and homewares to vintage fashion. There are also eateries, pastry and dessert stores, convenience stores where you can grab your food or drinks.
As it was a Saturday evening when we visited there, the mall was quite crowded.
It's convenient and accessible to shop here as you can move around easily within the building or through the walk bridges that link you to Abeno Q mall that is on the opposite side of the road.
Do dropby if you happen to be...
