JR Tower — Attraction in Sapporo

Must GO! On the left of JR Tower is the famous Daimaru Store for high end shopping. Stella Place Centre and Paseo is located side by side. Shopping for teens clothes and accesories; and Japanese meals on the 6th floor. At Paseo, Ramen town is a must visit. At Esta Mall, next door, you'll find ladies cosmetics that women seem to go Gaga over it. BIC Store for cameras and accesories and Japanese watches, if you're a fan. This is the JR Train station for all train services except the Shinkansen. The weather was very kind during out 10 day stay in Sapporo. Took a 3 day trip to Hakodate, a 4 hour ride n recommend you book reserved seats during high season, for a change in scenery n some fresh seafood. Tickets (one ticket for access to the train and another for the reserved seat) cannot be bought at JR station on the day of travel. Buy your dried seafood there as it is costly in Sapporo. Stayed at the Spa and Hotel Century Marina, just 7 minutes walk from Hakodate train station. The hotel opened in 2019, clean big room and with an awesome and inspiring breakfast spread of Japanese, Asian and Western. Staff here speak little English and useful to load this App - SayHi-Translate, which can be used in your travel....

We recently stayed in April 2024 for a 3 night trip to Sapporo. From our arrival, everyone from the lobby was extremely welcoming and helpful. Everyone was conversant in English, check in was prompt and efficient. The view from our room was fantastic as we could see the Sapporo skyline on a sunny day. The bathroom was well equipped and well stocked each day. The beds and pillows were soft and made for a relaxing stay during our 4 day trip. The location of the hotel was especially great as it was connected to both the Sapporo station and the neighboring mall, which allowed us to relax without extra traveling.

While the hotel and the amenities were great, the service we received during our stay was even greater. I wanted to especially thank Mr. Suzuki and Ms. Harada for their excellent customer service in helping us during and after our stay. Both of them went above and beyond, and totally exceeded all expectations to resolve our issue. This level of hospitality and professionalism is truly unmatched. JR Tower Nikko Sapporo should be on the top of everyone’s list when looking to stay in Sapporo.

Great views when the sun has set. The venue offers a 360deg view. The bar has a couple options for drinks including non-alcoholic cocktails. The house cocktail is a bit small and the bartenders are exceedingly rookie. The metal shaker they used, other than not giving it a good shake, got stuck because it got cold (metal shrinks) and they couldn’t get it undone at first. Was a little funny but not the best experience. Can’t complain at the price of the cocktail thought. The house cocktail wasn’t bad. It was a bit sweet and had a mild fruity kick.
