Kita 6-jo Elm-no-sato Park — Attraction in Sapporo

I am visiting Sapporo and happened to find this basketball court under the bridge one day as I was walking by. It also being in a great location, about a 10 minute walk from Sapporo station. I checked it out a few days later again bringing a ball with me and since then I have played basketball here nearly every day for a couple of months. Typically there are a lot of guys here to play basketball with of varying levels and everybody has played fair and been a good sport.

It has a solid half court with one hoop, there are two pillars in the way of the three point line which are annoying but also give some interesting opportunities for screening plays. (I also attached photos of the court) The reason I gave the court 4 stars and not 5 is because of the somewhat dirty conditions, the area is cleaned daily and there is not usually trash in the mornings, but by the end of the day there will be a lot of trash left by teenagers along with lots of cigarettes. Typically around 12 o'clock a large group of teenagers come and sit at the benches and sometimes bring lunch and they also mostly all smoke. There have also been some people that play basketball and leave trash all over the court and chain smoke. Other than that downside the court is a great spot and I love going there, most people I have met there are very kind and I have played games of basketball with lots of groups.

If potential smoking doesn't bother you I highly recommend coming here and playing ball. Like I said almost everybody has been very kind and they will give you space and practice good etiquette and will likely ask if you want to play a game. バスケができるので若い子達に人気です。 昼頃は特に賑わっています。 ただ、溜まり場と化していて正直怖い…。 もちろん、きちんとマナーを守って利用する人も多いです。 それでも一部に遊歩道沿いのベンチで集団で煙草を吸う子がいたり、便乗していい年したサラリーマンが路上喫煙したりと治安がどんどん崩れています。 そもそもが自転車での通行禁止なのに守らない人が多く、それを管理者側が見過ごしたのが発端に思います。 ちゃんと管理されてない、せいぜいが張り紙での注意なら痛くも痒くもありませんよね。 広いところで喫煙しているのだから臭いが気にならないはずだというのが喫煙者側の言い分らしいですが、とんでもない、広範囲に臭くなるだけです。 風にのってどんどん広がります。 緑地とか植物園周りとか、何でまた空気のよいところで吸おうとするのか…。 一昨年までは小さいこどもを遊ばせている親御さんもいましたが、いまはとても無理でしょう。 喫煙禁止区域に...

ヤスカスの巣窟、この公園だけではなく公園に沿ってある札幌桑園停車場緑道線では平日昼休みの時間に特に近くのオフィスの連中が副流煙を巻き散らかしにやってくる。 車が通らず安全に通れるはずの場所だが副流煙のせいでむしろ危険である。 基本ヤスカスは近くのオフィスのおっさんだが、ババアや若いサラリーマンも多く、札幌市は早急に罰則をもうけてほしい。 ちなみにこの近くの保育園は園児をこの公園に遊ばせにきているようで(近くの公園に園児を遊ばせに行くのはどこの保育園でもある話)、この子達に自分勝手なヤスカスどもの副流煙が流れていかないか心配。 ヤスカスは口を揃えて高いタバコ税を払ってるとか、虐げられてるとか、肩身が狭いというが、そもそも他者の権利を害してまでタバコを吸う権利は無いのだ。中学生でもわかる公共の福祉の概念がわからないのはタバコのせいなのかもしれない。文句があるなら自分たちで金を出し合って喫煙所を作れば良い。
