Akiu Winery — Attraction in Sendai

Nice but commercial place, with slightly overpriced wines, but then again Japanese wines are quite expensive. I tried the Chardonnay and the estate blend (red). Technologically, both wines were well made. Precise, concious winemaking. However, I was expecting more depth and complexity, especially from the red blend. I felt partial whole bunch (carbonic) maceration, so it's a fruit forward, easy drinking red. Villages level, if you will. Don't expect too much. ひとりで温泉地巡り 普段の自分へのご褒美を口実に ワイナリーでワイン飲み比べ¥1800 アンティパスト¥1580 を贅沢にいただきました。

個人的にはスパークリングが一番好きでした。 スパークリングの割に ちょいどっしり、 でも爽やかな香りが鼻に抜ける感じがよかったです。

メルローは 優しめ？柔らかめ？で飲みやすい。 ヘビー好き産には物足りないかも。

ブレンドブランは 爽やか、華やか。 解説カードにある通り ライチやバラのフローラルさ・甘さが 鼻から入ってきて 飲むと優しめの酸味。

とはいえ、 ただのワインに詳しくないワイン好きなので ぜひ足を運んで飲み比べて欲しいです。

★ワイナリーのアンティパスト¥1580 量は△ ひとりだったから十分だったけど お肉、海鮮、1切れずつなので シェアとなるとナイフで切るか争奪戦。

彼ならまだしも 友達とシェアはキツそう。 (シェア前提ではなさそう。)

味は◎ どれも美味しかった！ 特に野菜が素材そのものがおいしく爽やか。 特にトマト甘くて美味しい。 ワインともあう。

量とクオリティを見て 都内のいいところのランチ料理と同じくらい。

ワイナリーでワインと一緒に ワインにあうように作られているって考えると 妥当、むしろ安いかも。

ひとり時間にはとても贅沢で 美味しい時間を過ごさせていただきました！ ごちそうさまでした。

We were visiting Akiu, unfortunately during a snowstorm. The Winery was closed (not surprisingly), but the owner gifted us a bottle of wine for making the trek out to discover that. It was excellent! I hope to come back and get the full experience someday, but I can confidently say this is a business...
