A small park with good observation deck for seeing the Japanese alps. About 20-25 mins walk from the takayama station in the direction opposite to most of the tourist spots in takayama (hence much less crowd). In fact when I visited on a Saturday afternoon I was the only one present in the entire park. Apparently a bear was spotted here 2 months ago but since it's now peak winter and they may be hibernating so I felt safe. The walk up the small hill is easy only about 60m elevation gain. Came up in summer, and on a clear day, so could see all of the mountains. Would be amazing in any season on a clear day.
