Very well done, classic leather chairs at the lobby (I might be biased because I love quality leather and woods, so it's a 5 star start here for me), walking around map available in like 9 language in a thin easy to carry flyer, heating visible underneath front desk decorated with faux smoke and lighting creating even more warmth ambience arriving from cold night outside (I arrived at a mild 8° on a 9 PM early march weather), free cold and hot green tea, info on rental car, vending machine on trivial necessities from diapers to contact lens and hair gel so we don't have to make a late night minimart run. And that's just at the lobby. Comfy room with air purifier and air con. 7th floor restaurant, adjacent to both separated and family hot spa and relaxing lounge after taking the spa. This hotel prepares all and everything I can think of for hospitality strategy class, and I picked up a thing or two here! (Like separate bath and closet, so it cuts my family's time in taking turns to prepare themselves in half. Well lit (lighting at the) sink mirror, the girls really appreciate that. I just stop here now with this review. 5 stars. == It's me again, forgot to upload photos so might as well add more lines review here. Quality toilet is a big plus factor for many and I'm happy to say it's better than even M gallery Kyoto (M gallery have top quality fluffy thick down feather blanket though, can't say anything beats that after a freezing night walk and hot shower). Pic attached on the toilet control, I used my phone to translate while doing my business and found out the top one says cleaning strength and below says wash position. Surely this will help someone. Done before I found hot spray button though, you're on your own there. Small mirror extend horizontally to the shower, never seen that before, I can shave while taking shower and washing my face, again cutting down precious time during travel. Full body mirror at the room door. These guys thought off EVERYTHING. Can't say I found such continuous low cost innovation at my regular accor hotel chain.

This hotel is slightly further out than other hotels that are right next to the station but it only takes less than 10 minutes to walk to this hotel from the bus station. Newish hotel and rooms are REALLY big and spacious. Bottled water and tea is provided in each room and they have usb charging. Bathrooms are nice with amneties provided in the rooms. I really liked the bath sponges they provide you! When we arrived, we got given vouchers for a welcome drink and breakfast vouchers. Welcome drink was a cup of beer or juice which you take yourself in the lobby and put the voucher into a box once youve taken your drink. This was only available until 9pm. Breakfast was great! it was buffet style and they had a large assortment that I liked. No microwave or water/ice machines I think. They had an onsen on top floor along with a bar. Throughout the afternoon and early evening, the bar is open for use (no alcohol served) and they have green tea available. The onsen was pretty large. they had a male bath, female bath and 4 private onsens for you to use for free for some privacy. Outside the onsen area, they had vending machines for you to purchase drinks and a fridge filled with free ice lollies. Towels must be brought from your rooms. Pyjamas available in rooms.

We spent two nights here in October and really enjoyed our stay. A brand new and nicely appointed hotel not far from the station and just a 15 minute walk to almost all the sites and restaurants in Takayama. Checkin was a breeze as staff speak excellent English and they’ve got a nice sized parking lot outside that you pay for upon checkin. If you leave the next day you can reserve your same parking spot by placing a cone there which is nice if you want to drive to Shirakawago or the Shin Hotaka Ropeway. The room was an ok size for a couple with in room sink, toilet, and shower. But we just used the private onsen tubs on the 7th floor. There are 4 to choose from and you just turn over the sign and lock the door behind you. There is also a larger shared bath (gender separated). Private baths are great for couples, those with tattoos, or families. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the rooftop patio after a long day of sightseeing. Free coffee/tea in the 7th floor lounge and lots of vending machine options. We got breakfast with our room rate which was ok but there are a few coffee shops nearby too. All in all a great 2-night stay and an amazing value for what you get!

We stayed for 2 nights in what they call the Hollywood room where both beds are next to each other. What an amazing place to stay in Takayama. Our main reason to come here was to try the onsen since my friend and I have tattoos. The public baths usually don’t accept people with tattoos, but with these private baths, you can go to a private onsen all by yourself. The rooms are really clean, it smells good, the bathroom is really nice. The location is good enough, the hotel is at approximately 10 minutes walk from the train station and all the activities can be found by walking 15 to 30 minutes so you have the chance to explore the city meanwhile. They lend you a pyjama and you have 4 drinks free to choose from when you arrive (juice, tea or beer). Honestly, we planned to stay here 2 nights to get a break from the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka, but we would have stayed one more night because of the comfort and all the amenities that they offer. I highly recommend going there.

This is a popular hotel in Takayama, welcoming many domestic and foreign visitors. There is ample parking space, but you have to pay ¥800 for parking overnight. The breakfast buffet can be added on for ¥1000 per person. The staff at front desk spoke good English. There was a welcome drink coupon which you could use it for beer or a soft drink at the bar, which is totally self-service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, comes with a shower and nice equipment. The onsen is located on the top floor, and for the private onsen it is on a first come first serve basis, you just need to lock it and enjoy the facility. It is family friendly, and visitors can help themselves to a popsicle after having a bath. Amenities such as combs, soap, shampoo, bath robes are provided, you can take it at the lobby. When it was snowing heavily outside, we could borrow an umbrella from the hotel.

One of the most beautiful hotels in Takayama. There are many beautiful places in this area but WAT takes the cake. Good points: 1. The hotel is beautiful. The lobby sofa looks nice. The stairs case looks elegant. 2. Our room was for family. It had a small lobby, the toilet and bathroom are separated. We had 2 double beds and a room sala set. 3. It has a private and shared onsen. The onsen is nice. 4. The price is fair for the quality of the hotel. Needs improvement: 1. The staff are very friendly but some of them don't speak very good English. I had a request about the outside call but couldn't answer me. 2. The breakfast buffet was so-so. I'd rather eat outside. The choices were not as varied as other hotels I've stayed in. All in all, I highly recommend this place. We will go back here.
