Entaku — Restaurant in Takayama

What an absolute gem!

This little Izakaya is a must visit.

Somewhat off the beaten track - a few minutes walk from the main hub of restaurants and wasn’t our first choice - but we weren’t disappointed!

My wife and I shared a few beers.

Everything was just so delicious. Definitely one of the best meals we’ve had in Japan.

The owner serves and cooks everything himself - you can tell that so much love and care has gone into this place and you can taste it in his food too.

We absolutely loved spending some time here. We were the first to sit down that evening (about 6:15) - but he was having to turn people away by 7pm so it seems an early arrival would be best… or perhaps later, 8/9pm to get a spot.

We were actually on our way to another restaurant when google maps leading us down a backstreet, and we came across this quaint little restaurant.

We were made welcome from the moment we walked in, so cosy only seating maybe 8-10 people.

The menu was in English, and we had the Hida Beef Stew with rice, it was delicious! The chef also recommended the fried potato with salted squid guts...🤔

It was nothing like I expected, so rich in flavour and absolutely delicious! I recommend these 2 together.

We also had hot Saki and traditional Japanese ice cream.

I can not speak highly enough about the flavour of the meal.

ไม่แน่ใจว่าควรเรียกร้านนี้ว่าเป็นร้านอาหารประเภทไหนดี แต่ตอนแรกก่อนมาร้าน ดูรีวิวและชื่อร้าน เลยเข้าใจว่าเป็นร้านอิซากายะ แต่เราขอเรียกว่า Home Izakaya เพราะร้านให้บรรยากาศเหมือนนั่งทานอาหารในบ้าน เป็นร้านขนาดไม่ใหญ่ที่ให้ความรู้สึกอบอุ่นแบบสุดๆ

ทางร้านมีทั้งเมนูภาษาญี่ปุ่นและภาษาอังกฤษ เจ้าของร้านสามารถสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษได้เล็กน้อยและภาษากายก็ช่วยได้มาก ทำให้ไม่พบปัญหาเรื่องการสื่อสารเลย

ร้านนี้ต้องเดินมาทานเพราะไม่มีที่จอดรถ (หรืออาจจะมีแต่อาจจะต้องหาที่จอดแบบเสียเงิน) และเป็นร้านที่ค่อนข้างปิดดึกในละแวกนี้ ทำให้เราสามารถฝากท้องยามดึกได้หลังจากเดินชอปปิงจนห้างปิด

เจ้าของร้านจัดการคนเดียวหมดทั้งตำแหน่งพ่อครัว คนจดออเดอร์และเสิร์ฟอาหาร ตอนแรกแอบหวั่นใจว่าอาจจะรออาหารนาน แต่ว่าไม่เลย อาหารออกไวกว่าที่เราคิดไว้มาก นอกจากนี้ หากตอนสั่งอาหาร มีบางอย่างที่เจ้าของร้านไม่แน่ใจ เจ้าของจะสอบถามอีกทีและทำให้ลูกค้าตัดสินใจบางอย่าง ได้ง่ายและชัดเจนขึ้น เช่น ตอนที่เราสั่งเครื่องดื่มซึ่งทางร้านมีเครื่องดื่มทั้งขนาดเล็กและขนาดปกติ เราสั่งขนาดเล็กไป แต่เจ้าของร้านหยิบขนาดแก้วมาให้เราดูเพื่อตัดสินใจอีกครั้ง ซึ่งสิ่งนี้ช่วยได้มากจริงๆ

อาหารอร่อยทุกจาน และอร่อยกว่าที่เราคิดไว้มาก เราทานจนหมดเกลี้ยงทุกจาน ไม่เหลือแม้แต่เศษอาหาร เราแนะนำไก่ทอด เจ้าของร้านทอดได้กรอบมาก สตูวก็เยี่ยมมากเช่นกัน และต้องไม่พลาดเนื้อฮิดะจานร้อนผัดกับกิมจิ และ omelette เด็ดขาด เรียกได้ว่าอร่อยจนประทับใจทุกจานจนเราไม่ลืมที่จะบอกเจ้าของซ้ำๆว่าอาหารของคุณอร่อยจริงๆ และถึงขั้นที่เราขอเสนอให้ทิปเพื่อเป็นการชื่นชมรสชาติของอาหาร
