2nd STREET Kōenji — Attraction in Tokyo

If Tokyo thrift shopping is a religion, then 2nd STREET is one of its mega-churches. The Kōenji branch is sleek, organized & packed with racks of denim, tees, outerwear & the occasional grail piece dangling above eye level like bait for fashion hunters.

Pros: selection is huge, prices are reasonable (by Tokyo standards) & the layout makes it easy to browse without feeling like you’re suffocating under piles of mystery clothing. Everything is tagged, sorted & clean...this isn’t dusty vintage diving, it’s curated secondhand retail.

Cons: because it’s part of a chain, you won’t get the same quirky one-off gems you find in Kōenji’s indie thrift shops. It leans more “solid wardrobe staples” than “wild statement finds.” And depending on timing, the rare hype pieces (Supreme, designer collabs, vintage band tees) can vanish faster than a free sample at Costco.

Great stop if you want quality secondhand fashion without the chaos of smaller shops. Not the most adventurous thrift experience, but definitely one of the...

Today I had the pleasure of visiting this store as I wandered Koenji for the first time. Everyone in this town I spoke to was so friendly, and Genki was the kind & super stylish man who served me on the 3rd floor.

Thank you so much Genki-san for your friendly manner, incredibly helpful service and for sharing your interests with me. Your English is fantastic and your guidance for where I may find alternative clothes/jewellery in the area was brilliant (as was your taste in Anime! Hanji (Hange) #1 character in AoT? Maybe Armin is a little better to me hahaha)

土日に買い取り希望で行くと、混んでるので1時間半待ちと言われたので、 平日の12時に後日行ったら、お客さん私以外にいないけど1時間半待ちでした。

大体の戻りの時間を聞かれたので、3時間は戻ってこれないと伝えたら、何時なのかしつこく食い下がるように聞かれ、夕方以降にはなると言っても大体でいいので！とか15時くらいですか？16時になりますか？とやり取りが長くなり面倒くさくなってきたので15時くらいと言っておきました。

近所でもない場合、時間に余裕がある日じゃないと無理ですね。 ちなみに日をまたいで預かってもらえるのかを聞いたところ、断られました。

あと、複数持ち込みした場合、査定時に点数をよく確認してから承諾の方がいいですよ。 完全にお任せしきりだとせっかく持ち込んで時間かかる割に損をしているかも…

どれがいくらで売れたのか？もこちらから積極的に聞けば教えてもらえるけど、聞かないと分からないし、そのままになります。

実際、私が持っていったはずのセーターが1点、査定にも入ってなくて返却もされなくて、どうなったのか有耶無耶になりました。

それが後日お店でしれっと売られてたら気分的に嫌じゃないですか？

これは売ります！と正式に承諾したものは後からキャンセル出来ないですが、売買すると最終的にお客さんが言ってないものはまだお客さんのものを預かってるだけなはずです。 それを返せないという話になるといかがなものかと思います。

だったら、もっとお客さんにはっきりと分かるような詳細内訳の説明がないと売りに来た側の立場からしたら納得して売れないです。
