IL DOGE — Restaurant in undefined

I went for lunch on 25th June, 2022. It’s a nice experience, the food was good and service was excellent.the staff was very friendly,attentive and flexible, generally in Japan the restaurants are not flexible if you ask them to do some modifications in your dish/es. I ordered few dishes (PFA pictures in bottom).

I asked for a pint 🍺 of Heineken beer without Foam (Aawa) and they did it so nicely, plus the pint was full until brim with beer not foam! Cheers 🍻!!! Thank you for your understanding and hospitality!

Il Doge is a stunning reproduction of a "bacaro" (the typical pub of Venice), a niche of Italian food-culture in Koenji. The food consists mostly of authentic traditional recipes from Venice, with some japanese creativity in it. You can also choose frome a large assortment of "cicchetti" (traditional finger food), to eat a light meal while you sip the best Spritz (typical italian cocktail) in Tokyo. The staff is very friendly, and passionate about italian food culture. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed. The prices are relatively affordable....

Stumbled into this small Italian joint around one of the streets in Koenji. Didn't expect much so we were wildly surprised. Table charge got us crostini and what appeared to be homemade pickles drizzled with olive oil - really delicious. We got that il doge carbonara and the staff was nice enough to split the serving in two bowls (really generous portions for the pork belly too,!!) Another favorite was the liver pate.
