It’s good for architects and modelling fans but could be better. It recently reopened and it’s quite different to the photos here as it’s all dark now and with only one row of models per shelf and only a few of the models from the white era were on show. They’re quite strict with their policy of no photos, someone I saw that did got told to delete their photos. And an unexplained rule that you can only draw with pencil? It’s a helpful resource for sure but comes off as unnecessarily pretentious. Kengo Kuma has almost a whole wall to his work and Yuko Nakagawa is also well featured. I would suggest bringing a warm colour temperature torch so you can better understand the shading or see the ridiculous interior detail on various models, phone LEDs aren’t enough. They also should have more detail about what is on show. The student section had QR codes (albeit to some advertising-supported service) that had PDFs with a full project overview. But the main section, you were left to Google whether it was a just a plan or built. Really a museum should take ownership of not using ad-supported tech and communicating basic information about their exhibits. So this is more like a private gallery than a real museum. If they want this to appeal to a wider audience they need more storytelling be that about the projects, architects, have some themes or the process of...

We checked the opening hours to make sure it was open but when we reached it was closed and when we asked a guard he said the sign says they are 'taking a day off'. We arrived at the museum at 5pm on a Wednesday (opening hours on their website stated it's open from 11am-9pm from tues-sun) and google maps also stated that this museum was 'open'. How can the museum take a 'Day-off' without even updating their website? Super unprofessional and I am very disappointed. Doubt I encourage traveling all the way here lest ur hopes get dashed just...

2000 Yen Admission fee When I was there in September, there was not a single model of well-known architects; instead there were usually badly made models of lost competition entries by unknown firms including explanations why they should have actually won (in my personal architect's opinion hardly any of the the projects were good enough to deserve a win). There was also a photo exhibition which I found no more exciting. Even reading all descriptions, it didn't take me half an hour to go through the whole museum. 2000 Yen for this is...
