I am giving this 5 stars because of the service. For what it is worth, I had a very nice meal of the ribs. I am sure rib fanatics could find some fault but I enjoyed the tender, tasty half rack. Yes, it was expensive but the meal was great and so was the setting. We could look up and watch the river boats coasting by. The service was amazing. Service is easy when everything goes well. The true test is when something goes wrong. While my partner was looking at the menu, she placed it inadvertently over the candle. I was focused on my own order until I smelt something like burning toast..... I look up to see a growing RING OF FIRE in the middle of her menu. I try to blow it out AND THE FLAMES GET BIGGER. It was at this point that Mr Furusawa, the assistant manager on duty, steps forward, takes the burning paper, walks to the side of the boat, and calmly drops the paper in the water. He laughs and says "That was a first!", we get another menu, and our meal begins shortly. I tried to buy him a drink in appreciation but he declined because he was going to drive his Harley home that night. Anyway, great views, good food for the price, and EXCELLENT service.

We went on Valentine's Day and got the meat platter. Ribs were delicious and easy to eat off the bone. The amber beer chicken breast would've been great had it been taken out of the pan maybe a minute or two earlier. It was a little dry but still had a good flavor thanks to the beer. The sides weren't bad but were nothing too special. The highlight was the hanger steak. It's probably the best one we've had in Japan. The drinks, although a little pricey, were exquisite. The highlight was the limited-time Spiced Apple beer. Absolutely delicious! The cocktails were also great flavor-wise though they had too much ice and too little alcohol than I'd have liked. We also had the bread with whipped butter. Bread was made in the bakery right next to the restaurant and owned by the same company running the restaurant. After our meal we got bread to go. Their brioche was amazing! For dessert we tried their Yuzu creme brulee. It wasn't bad but nothing special either. I'd go for their chocolate cake instead next time). I'd give a full 5 stars if it weren't for the price and the somewhat dry chicken in our meat platter.

The location is great. They have a brewery and a bakery. The space is very nice with lots of seating and a great deck along a bayside canal. The menu looked good, there were plenty of options. The staff were friendly, some more than others. We ordered a lot. The food was ok. The strawberry mojito was very good. I drank several. The oysters were really good. I should have ordered more. The shrimp cocktail was pretty good. The shrimp were very large. Though deveined, there was still residue. The cocktail sauce was nice and tangy. The margarita pizza was standard. The chilli and cornbread had nice seasoning and was a little spicy. The fried potato wedges with sour cream and chutney were delicious. I would order those again. The crab cakes were dry. The lamb chops were fatty. The chicken was very good, nice seasoning and juicy. I would have liked it better if the skin had been crispier. The hanger steak was pretty good. The ribs were ok. The slab was huge and meaty, but they were a little dry in places. The creme brulee was infused with tea; I didn't care for it. Not sure if I would return of my own volition, but I might accompany someone else and enjoy their great deck.
