Chose this hotel for our last night in Tokyo - after a side trip to Kyoto - for convenience to Narita Airport. I wish I'd had time to explore the Shinagawa area but it wasn't in the cards. That said, this hotel is good value for the money. Staff were friendly and we were able to communicate adequately with them. Our double room was typically tiny but the bed was softer than usual, which I prefer. Amenities were all fine - nice, deep Japanese tub and toilet with all the bells and whistles, toothbrushes, etc., etc. - all crammed into a bathroom barely bigger than an airline bathroom if it had a bathtub.||||Breakfast was included: we got vouchers for the little chain cafe that's about 60 feet from the hotel's front door, where the lattes and breakfast sandwiches were great, along with the usual warm service.||||Convenience: I would say that it's about 20-30 paces from the hotel's front door to an escalator up to Shinbamba Station on the Keikyu line. 2 quick stops to Shinagawa Station where you can change to the JR line (and others) and go just about anywhere in Tokyo, or catch the Shinkansen bullet train to Yokohama/Kyoto/Osaka etc., or the Narita Express to (sadly) head...

The location is really easy for the station with a few eateries dotted around outside. The house restaurant was really disappointing from slow service through the poor menu and finally it not being part of the hotel so that bills needed to be settled separately - not the biggest hassle but just "one more thing". The breakfast buffet is pretty dreadful, with long queues and a poor selection of low quality offerings. Late night has an interesting (and expensive) Cellar bar in the basement. Overall, fine for a couple of nights as a dormitory but the idea of a weekend there fills me with...
