If you're a tech enthusiast and find yourself in Tokyo, you absolutely must visit a hidden gem - The Extinct Media Museum. This place is a treasure trove of obsolete technology, a testament to the relentless march of progress, and a nostalgic nod to the past.

Walking into the Extinct Media Museum is like stepping into a time machine. The collection is a fascinating journey through technological history. From hand-cranked movie cameras to early-model laptops, each exhibit tells a part of the story of our digital age.

But what makes this museum special is that it's not just a place to look at old gadgets. It's an interactive experience that lets you touch and feel the past. You can type on a manual typewriter, listen to a film projector, or watch the soft glow of a cathode ray tube. It's a sensory feast that brings the past to life.

What's more, the Extinct Media Museum has a strong sense of community. Nearly 80% of the exhibits have been donated, showing a collective effort to preserve these pieces of history. The staff are friendly and always ready to share a story, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

The admission price is very reasonable. For just a few yen, you can travel back in time and immerse yourself in the world of extinct media. And don't forget to sign the visitor book before you leave. It's fun to see your name alongside visitors from all over the world.

So, if you're in Tokyo and have a few hours to spare, make sure to visit the Extinct Media Museum. It's not just a museum, it's a technological time capsule, a hands-on history lesson, and a celebration of our technological heritage. It's an adventure that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the technology of...

This is an awesome place where you can go hands-on with technology that is both old, and might just make you feel old! Marty McFly's camcorder, Japan exclusive phones with every shape, size, and feature, and countless other remnants of a past when electronic design was radically different from what it is now. They also have an incredible library in Japanese and lots of reading material and they encourage you to sit down and have a good read from the past! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. If you are an old nerd or are a computer or technology historian, this place is a wonderland and you will be here for a...

I visited here 3 days ago & had a really good time. it was fun observing & carefully holding & touching these old pieces of Technology (Film cameras, camcorders, rotary phones, etc.). it makes me think that people once used these in daily life years & decades ago which is fascinating to think about. The owners are polite too which i appreciate & its also a small space as well. if you're into Showa & Heisei nostalgia or retro/ old school stuff in general, its worth checking this museum out. the tickets may be pricey like ¥2,000 for Admission, but i think its worth...

The polar opposite of a museum. Touch ! Pick up! Take photos!. This place is more like a fabulous collection from a guy who is totally fine for you to play with his collection. Lovely idea. Great fun. Spend a long as you like to remember the extinct species of photography and mobile phones, cute libretto laptops and epic cine film super 8. Take your time, learn, enjoy.
