The hotel itself is located near Kanda station, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores along the way. So good! One unfortunate event: I tried out the room safe with my laptop inside. I had previously tested it and it worked, but this time I accidentally closed it, not knowing the combination it was locked in. I went down to the front desk and asked a staff member, for help. After some attempts to see what I needed help with, she used a communication device and later came up to my room to help with re-opening the safe. Everything was fine, I was very grateful she could help me, and I thanked her in Japanese. However, I also needed to change a large currency note and came down again to see if they had a machine for this to change it into smaller bills. I came back down shortly to the front desk. There was no one on line but me, and I saw the same woman there, but she ignored me this time. Instead, she greeted a man who was coming out from the elevator behind me, to have him check out. After she was done with him, she looked at me, and I asked her if I could could be helped with money change, and she made a cross sign using her index fingers, that I assume meant “no”.
This morning, October 25, I came down for breakfast. I saw the same woman and another worker there. I was first in line. She looked at me, and then looked past me, and took care of a man who came out of the elevator, disregarding me on line. Again! I waited until the other staff member looked up to pay for breakfast. I thought maybe this woman was taught that men should be treated first before anyone else who is waiting. But, I was also a customer paying for services just like this other man, with the possibility of returning to this hotel. This to me was clearly a sign of lack of respect and diplomacy, something I had never encountered at a hotel in Japan. I felt it was very rude of her. I am usually not one to complain, Ins't customer service is very important when it comes to a hotel?
Everything else was fine. I hope not to encounter service like this at other hotels, and sadly I may not return because of this. Other staff members were helpful and kind, but I was slighted by this one, and this is why I gave 4 stars...
Read moreI love this hotel. It's so charming with its interior design. I like how the lounge had the interior looking like a piano to accompany the nice piano lounge music that was being played. The staff are very friendly and polite who tended to my needs. They arranged a taxi for me when I left. Thank you. They made my stay enjoyable. The hotel is very clean. My room was very tidy and there was new set of pyjamas for me. The toilet and shower were very clean. Spotless. I like how my bed was made to look like a piano, and the mirror was shaped like a musical note. It only added tot he charming interior design. There was a kettel that came pretty handy when I made myself some tea. The breakfast here is delicious. The buffet was presentable. Each day there was day soup. My favourite was the omelette, it was tasty and creamy. I don't how they do it, it's a great start to the day. There are laundry facilities available. It's simple, buy detergent from the little vending machine, place your laundry into the washing machine and then tumble drier above. Simple. The front desk has a big graphics tablet to check in and check out, and to sign your signature onto. Very hi-tech and cool. The location is good because it is close to several stations which are walking distance away. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Overall, this hotel has everything you need. This hotel made my stay in Japan very...
Read moreIf you want to explore Tokyo but need some space and like to relax on non-crowded areas, this is your hotel. Kanda is business district and is full of restaurants, but as it doesn't have any specialty shops, it doesn't have the massive crowds districts like Shibuya or Akihabara do.
The hotel had decent rooms, bit bigger than the normal standard rooms are in many Tokyo hotels. Make no mistake, the standard rooms are still small in comparison to other countries. The prices were excellent considering the location and size of the city in question. Bed was good and sturdy and big enough for two people comfortably.
Hotel staff was helpful and kind and they spoke OK english. Room had excellent 5G signal and wifi was also provided.
Nearest public transport station is Kanda, about 400m away, providing excellent access to anywhere through nearby stations. Akihabara and Tokyo Station are also walking distance away, perhaps 15min by leisurely walking. There are also few metro stations nearby for metro access.
We spent two weeks in the hotel, exploring Tokyo, Kanda was always very relaxing district to return after busy day, as streets were only lightly used and there were plenty of restaurants to pick for dinner. Evening stroll in the neighborhood was excellent way...
